My dad was always a ford guy but in 1962 ended up buying a 1960 Buick LaSabre because it caught my mothers eye. This Buick was only a white four door with beautiful red interior.I can still remember riding home in this beautiful car! The thing I remember most was the speedometer that reflected off the adjustable mirror, no other car ever had such a cool dash as it had! The Buick soon became my dad's favorite car. My dad traded do a 1966 Chevy wagon which was a good car but didn't compare to the Buick. Seeing your 1960 Buick brought back some fond memories. I think these bucks were over looked for years and are going to be worth much more in the future It's almost like General Motors built the designers cars without any restrictions! The 1960 Buick is work of art! Thank you for sharing your beautiful 1960 Buick Electra. 🇺🇸

❤️🇺🇸❤️ I owned a 1961 Buick Electra, they had 355 horsepower v8 with dual quads wrap around Chrome bucket seats, positraction drive, weather for speed automatic, I used to blast the motor mounts out with every burnout, so I did a hillbilly retrofit with 3/8 chains and mounted the engine down, this is one badass American ride thank you for the footage 🎞️🎞️🎞️‼️

The Buick electra. When I was 5 or 6 I had a book of american cars and , as you progressed through the book the cars got more exotic so that by the end you had cadillacs etc but at the VERY last page was a Buick electra . It was so beautiful to a young english kid used to the old english cars of the day. Buick electra - when you say it- it just sounds fantastic. Loved it as a kid.

Lou you did it again. What a gorgeous car! My parents and Grandfather had several Electra's. Ours was a 1974 with a 455. It pulled a 22 foot boat all over North America. My buddies parents owned a small dealership back in the 1960's and 1970's . His parents had the 225 Electra Limited. A beautiful set of wheels. Every time you show something like this I get great childhood memories. Thanks Lou , another stellar vid and car.

in 1959 and 1960 only the Electra 225 4-door hardtops were 225 long. In both years the convertibles measured 221 inches bumper to bumper. The car featured really is stunning. It is interesting so many comments are so positive about the styling of this car because when new it was not received well. The 1960 Buick sales were down from the very disappointing 1959 sales

Delta fins. They were scaled down from '59 because they blocked line of sight when reverse parking. I loved hearing about Buick Bob and hope too see a 1958 model year (my favourite) Rivera Ltd reviewed one day. Rare VHS uploads Interesting that, that the fins on the 1959 Buicks obstructed vision when backing up. I guess that adds a little bit of solace after having viewed that KZfaq video showing A "nice running" restorable 1959 Buick being crushed at a junkyard. At least no one need fear injuring a pedestrian on account of that particular car. But that by no means justifies crushing a perfectly restorable ancient-mobile! It was so sad to see, that I could not watch the entire video. Another consolation was that the junkman did at least try to sell it over eBay first before crushing it. It was a four-door slope top at least, not a convertible, or even a four-door flat top. That would have made it even more sad. Needless to say, that video got slammed,...BIG TIME,...with the "thumbs down" votes, one of which was mine.
@FrankGutowski-ls8jt
@FrankGutowski-ls8jt 5 жыл бұрын
Rare VHS uploads We had a ‘59 Caddy with huge vertical fins. I passed my driving test in it, including parallel parking. The fins enabled the driver to sight the corners of the car easily because the trunk lid was steeply sloped like this one is. Useful, by no means obstructionist.

Hi Lou, that is a good looking car. I like the color. Those air conditioners added by the dealer are fantastic. My friend's mother had a Buick Special with the same type a/c and it would crank out the cold air. You thought you were at the North Pole !! Did you notice the portholes, it had 4 on each side. That meant it had an 8 cylinder engine.

Lou gets some cool cars on his show but I am constantly frustrated with the questions he does and doesn't ask. Along with that he will get off on some minutia to the complete ignoring of major features of the car. One interview made note of a brother who had completely taken apart the car that was being featured while the owner was in the military. Lou got off on one of his tangents and that part of the car story was never told. Lou please let the owner tell his car story and be sure to get some clear shots of the features he thinks are unique, rare ect. Oh yes when you look at the engine always ask what the horse power and torque is and at what RPM. You often focus on some ID plate or windshield wiper switch and fail to give a clear shot of the interior and what I assume are some beautiful consoles.

In the mid '60s my oldest brother had a 1959 Buick Electra convertible, triple white with leather interior and all of the power options. It even had factory AC, which is common now of course but at the time we thought it was a funny thing to have in a convertible. I was about 7 years old at the time and it was the first car I remember riding in that had power windows and a power (bench) seat. That car was like a parade float, just going for a ride in it was an event. He was prone to trading cars on a regular basis so he didn't have it for very long, possibly influenced by the fact it wasn't a very practical daily driver for a 20 year old.

I saw so many of these beautiful machines on the streets and highways as a kid growing up in 60's. My father had a '59 Impala Coupe, white on red in really nice condition. Sadly he'd gotten rid of it by the time I was old enough to drive. 😥

clock option here, looks like something that comes in an AC/Delco box, and bolts to the right of the speedo. think about the adjustable speedo with the mirror assembly. its gotta be printed in REVERSE. wow. i wonder if any other GM cars were so adorned. i love the shot were you can see the patina on the steering wheel chrome. so original. functional luxury, or improved braking on some of these boats, is an enjoyable thing to see that has been performed. they shouldn't have to be strictly trailered only.

My neighbor's grandson wouldn't stop laughing at this car...… He's 10. And, well, he's 10. But, I love the styling of Buick and Chrysler products from the late 58-65..... BTW, my father passed away this year and he had 15 Buicks in his life. For some reason, up till the late 70's Buicks were all about quality and durability..... With the exception of that aluminum motor experiment......
