One of the best demonstration out there of a real Burst. 110% tone, 110% playing.

Growing up owning/playing the Norlin era LP’s it’s astonishing how different the ‘57 - ‘60 LP’s sound. I really liked the cleans on the guitar here.

Obviously love that 60"s LP but damn son that AMP 1 sounded fantastic for its size! Seriously it sounded a lot like that Marshall you played through first!

Klasse.

I've just started focusing on the Les Paul. I'm a bit confused between an unburst and a burst. This is some of the best playing I've heard....period! Awesome guitar!

The mystique of the PAF tone is simpler than people realize. Mainly just 4 things contribute to that chimey articulate quality. The pickups are not wound hot, the coil windings were not equal on each coil of the pickup, they were unpotted which made them a bit microphonic, and lastly, those guitars had vintage wiring which maintained your treble when you roll the volume down. Buy a cheap, underwound, unpotted, microphonic humbucker, raise the pole pieces a bit to simulate mismatched coil windings, and wire your pots vintage style. Trust me, there’s no need to hunt down authentic PAFs and pay a kidney for them.

Dear Thomas, wonderful playing. Although 60ies Les Pauls tend to be Rockers I preferred your playing on the Deluxe. Kudos to Jan who did a fantastic job on this amp. It really brings out the qualities of the Burst as a Tele on Steroid. Quality Sound! I Amp 1👍👍👍

This is why players spend big-ish money on "boutique" PAF style pickups. Modern humbuckers are junk. The high end and articulation on those old pickups are the magic, unless you're playing metal in which a modern pickup has its place.

Not too fond of his accumulation of gear. I mean Joe seems to be a very nice guy. He’s a very good player and an encyclopedia of guitars but I don’t like the idea that one person owns so many guitars and gear and stack them. How often can one play so many guitars? It sounds more like an addiction than anything. It’s a bit sad when a nice vintage guitar gets out of the circuit of more normal players to enter a collection of some rich musician or collector and probably ends up not being much played anymore. Well... sorry for the negativity. Great sounding Les Paul in all cases and very enjoyable demo.

@@Yannplaysguitar He’s caring for them for posterity cause he loves guitars and amps. Instead of letting his money sit in the bank he invests in great stuff and enjoys them. Same thing I and many others do. I’m sure he’s fine with the fact you don’t like it.
@Yannplaysguitar
@Yannplaysguitar 3 жыл бұрын
@@ryanfulldark2775 Yes. I know he does take great care of it. It’s just so much in amount when you look at what he stores in Nerdville that you can really wonder how much of it he can really enjoy and how much is just stored unplayed there for years (which I find sad for great instruments). And for the touch of sarcasm about Joe being fine with me not liking it, that really was not necessary man. It’s just guitar talk we’re doing here. None of this is important enough to start arguing about it.
