None of those rich elegantly dressed people at the beginning would have owned a Falcon. Possibly a Galaxy, but for sure a Thunderbird.

Imagine people on airplanes wearing a suit & tie, women wore dresses & only the men had an "Adams Apple". No "T" shirts "I'm with stupid" and no sweat pants. Men opened doors & pulled out chairs and everyone used their blinkers when changing lanes! Yes mam, no mam and thank you could be heard spoken anyone of job title or color.

My Mom owned a Falcon back in the sixties. I think it blew a spark plug or something every day. It sounded like a train all of the time. A slow choo-choo-choo at the stoplights and then a faster choo- choo- choo sound when we would go faster. She cried all of the time because of that car. We always knew when she was getting ready to pull up in the driveway...lol

The overblown orchestrations for the Villa D'este shoot and the ridiculously costumed model for the rather ordinary looking '61 Galaxie is hilarious. Especially when the camera and the screaming orchestra linger on the meh grill. Crazy!

We had a 62/1/2 Galaxie XL 500 loaded white with blue interior. Bucket seats, A/C, power windows, Police passenger spot light, I mean loaded with options I haven't seen in other cars. Dad drove it to a Junk yard in Geneva Switzerland because he didn't want to pay $500.00 to ship it back home. A local collector scooped it up. I hope she is still around. It was supposed to be Mine!

The first commercial looks like a Disney movie. And speaking of Disney, I remember the GM driving experience at Disneyland to this day. It was done well, exciting and memorable. I was very disappointed when they removed it. They may have shot the footage with a Corvette. To be fair, Ford is safe, because I'm now a Mustang guy; Saleen Mustang to be specific and I'm very happy about it. Just remember boys and girls, every manufacturer makes good and bad models, so, choose by model and not by maker. G.

My mom was backing a boat on trailer on the boat ramp the brackets got wet on the ramp and she put the Galaxie in the drink, she was a water rat and bailed out the window when the car filled up, yep she kept her cool, makes me wonder how many people could pull that stunt now,

That's hilarious because my mom did the same thing in 1968 in our family car, a 1968 Mercury Colony Park 9 passenger station wagon. She was backing up the boat trailer at the ramp and went over the cement and into the water. My dad and she didn't speak for hours after their argument and got the car out.

Awesome cars, and I know it was that time back then when ads were like this but while I was watching the very first ad of this clip I caught myself thinking "They're all white cis-gender heterosexual couples of the same kind of build, everybody's BMI is like 21 or something" and it just felt (for the lack of a better word) weird. Oh wait, maybe I spotted a guy walking alone around the car without a partner...but I guess single girls or single ladies in their 30's or 40's didn't drive these cars back then? Would've been kick-@ss if they did but oh well.

Cars got better looking after 1966. Like the 1968,1969 & 1970 Dodge chargers. They had to look of Forever in style! Same with Ford Mustangs after 1968. Like the Ford 1968 mustang fastback. Chevrolet Camaroes another example. I like most car Mfgrs because they all are good and have their good and bad points. I dont get stuck on one particular brand because of a mental problem .
