I have worked on the fairs all my life and some things are a lot different now yet others have stayed the same, a very interesting film of how things were back in the 1960's.

My People...My Era. The organ music at the beginning is more powerful than ANY drug I have taken..it literally takes me back in time..my whole sense of being changes when I hear that... I become a Time Lord. We were an elite fraternity and all the tea in china could not buy you in...YOU WERE BORN INTO THIS. I was the last of my line to work the fairgrounds. Gypsies Tramps and Thieves We heard from the people of the town They called us Gypsies Tramps and Thieves But every night all the men would come around And lay their money down.

My fiance last time she worked at fairground was a few years ago on Blackheath only one night mind. But she also used to work their as a child. She likes spinning the cars at the Waltzer and doing the Dodgems.

What was that women talking about, living in a caravan and not being at home in a house? All showmen have bricks and mortar homes for the off season???
