Such a beautiful car and it purrs! I had a 1963 and a half Falcon Sprint...260 V8 four on the floor. I got it for my high school graduation in 1963. It was a black with black interior convertible. I loved it and I loved the fast back style of the top. My dad replaced the top a few times and I drove it for 10 years. When I went to college at Florida State University in 1973, my parents insisted I trade it, my dad took control, and I had to get a Pinto. What a come down! The Falcon was leaking oil at the time but I'm sure it could have been repaired. I hated that Pinto and I sure do wish I still had the Sprint. Thank you for sharing this!

Looks to be a clone…Sprint badging is not correct on front fender but the real clue is the choke knob, all V8 cars had a blockoff plug here…Sprint and Futura…and all Sprints were V8s.

Wasn’t the Sprint only available from the factory with the floor-mounted 4-speed manual as well? My father has had one since in his early 20’s (he’ll be 78 at the end of May this year) which is still in the family after all these years! He and my grandfather were the 2nd owners when they bought it in late ‘64 or ‘65. It was “resto-modded” by my uncle (my Dad’s youngest brother who just turned 62) in the early 90’s. I drove it last sometime around 1998-2000. I just turned 50 this year. It’s still sitting in my uncle’s garage without a hint of rust but hasn’t been started/driven since the early 2000’s. Sadly, it’s seen more glorious days…

Sprint could be bought with 2 speed auto on column, three on the tree manual (column), or 4 on the floor…as could the Futura. All Sprints were V8; however, and all V8s whether Sprint or Futura were automatic choke (thus block off plate). Unique items to Sprint (i.e., unavailable on Futura) were Sprint tach, badging, and wood-like steering wheel.

@@markhale8084 thanks for the reply and education. I couldn’t really find anything with this direct information on a web search. Its also a specific 1963 1/2 year release, not the 1963 reflected in a lot of listings I’ve seen. Thanks again!
