Well done! You are now a part of Ford history. I had a 66 7-litre Drop Top, 428 4sp and I miss it every day.

Nice video, I will have my kit next week for my 67. I ordered the calipers in gloss black to match the rear. Love the POR-15 paint, goes on super smooth. Boom!

Looking great! Do you have to go to power brakes when doing this? I've been wanting to put front disks on mine. I have 15" american racing wheels on it so hopefully the disk and caliper will fit.
@OmarRamirezGalaxie4 жыл бұрын
jewllake you don’t have to go power brakes, but the galaxie came with it! The kit can fit some 14’s but it will definitely fit like 90% of 15 inch wheels. I’m going to get some American racing wheels too!

Awesome! Thanks for the video! My brother has a 66 that needs a brake conversion. How much did this run you?

The front is about $650 and back are around $800. If you keep an eye on sales you can get it cheaper

Great video, which Wilwood kit did you get? Did you replace the brake booster? Any prod detail would be appreciated

140-13653-d is the part number for front. I had the original booster rebuilt by the Dewey booster exchange

Omar, How'd you decide on the viking coilovers? I'm in the market and there are at least 4 good quality choices. I want comfy ride, improved handling and a little lower than stock.
@OmarRamirezGalaxie Жыл бұрын
Yes there are lots of choices. I honestly got this because of the price and the fact that they are adjustable. So you can have a smooth ride or make it firm by changing the knobs. And they are lower from stock, good bang for the buck. I would call them, they are really knowledgeable for your setup.

Looks nice i have a 65 but i want to chance it to disk ony i have already a booster but it brakes not nice whit drumbs so i want to instal also wilwoods but what inch do i need and how mutch pistons 4 or 6 i have 21 inch wheels so space wouldn be the problem but i think i need an otter booster becouse the rear is stil drums what do you think whats best?
@OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
Just depends what you’re going to use the car for. 4 piston is fine for everyday, 6 piston has some huge rotors so they’re pretty pricey. I would call wilwood, their tech support is really good

@@OmarRamirezGalaxie thank you.. I have 18×8 foose f-208 rims all around. Do u think the brake caliper will rub the rim?. I also want to do the rears like u did your. What's the part numbers for your fronts and rears? Thanks again
@OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
@@germanmelendez6718 mine are 15 inch and front and rear fit fine. Front are 140- 13653-D. For the rear kit you’re going to have to measure the offset on your rear hub, It also depends if you have an 8 inch or a 9 inch rear end

Your greasing the front wheel bearings was insufficient. It's called packing the bearings. Those bearings will fail prematurely because rubbing grease on them is moved away from the bearings as the rotor spins.
@OmarRamirezGalaxie3 жыл бұрын
Talon Sharp thanks for the comment. I did grease them a lot more after I filmed it, I felt like it needed more as well
@firebreathinggarage21173 жыл бұрын
@@OmarRamirezGalaxie it's not that you didn't have enough grease, greasing wheel bearings is forcing the grease in between the cage and the bearings on the inside. There are videos showing this technique by hand and with a bearing packer. When those bearings start turning at 20, 50 miles per hour that grease on the outside will remain on the outside and bearing failure will not be far behind.
