One or two years ago David Edwards still had an ad in hemmings motor News for obsolete Chrysler transmissions . Today is Dec. 28 2023 . Don't give up there are people out there that understand these things

Had to do this after a transmission rebuild, the adjusting wheel was bumped by accident so i had to reset the adjustments, but it's pretty straight forward. The only issue i had was the Neutral button on the dash was sticky and impeded the other gears/buttons from being depressed. (Including the interruption of the park pawl that slides across) The final thing that occured was, the adjustments i made to the rooster comb/push button cable was not necessary, the buttons just jammed due to debris in the pushbutton sliders, in the end giving a false sense of the pushbutton's being out of adjustment, literally chased my tail all afternoon just to figure out it wasn't the adjustment problem.

This was good to watch. yes the 1965 manual i have says to put the shifter into 1 or low to install or remove. and then spin the wheel a certain number of turns once you touch the trans body. I have never seen it done but I need to do it on my 65 valiant

I have that cable as well as another at the rear of trans, not speedo, in front of speedo by 2" on bottom of trans. Looks like the other end goes to the shifter, I have the center console shifter in a 64 sport fury. Any suggestions as to how it removes? Thx

I have to do this on a 1963 Plymouth Savoy. Is it easier to drop the transmission pan to see the clip holding the cable?

Hello,, thanks for posting this. I own a 1965 Dodge Coronet with 727, cable operated from column. I have leaks on the shifter cable,, can you give some advise on how to repair it? Imperial Services has them on sale, but they are so much expensive.... thanks
