Coca-Cola has had a lot of great jingles through the years, and this one is my favorite even though it is a little before my time (I was born in 1971). I believe this jingle was briefly revived in the 1990's as part of a "retro" advertising campaign.

I heard this jingle like 9 years ago and it just came back to my mind last week

Judging from that quavering falsetto of the lead vocalist (who may also be the VO guy), this was sung by the LimeLiters, featuring Glen Yarbrough.

It was a trusting, kinder world back then., at least in small towns like mine where most people seldom locked their doors and us kids had the run of the neighborhood.

Back before they loaded it with high fructose corn syrup... It tastes a thousand times better back then
@gojoe28333 жыл бұрын
@EpsilonGoods no argument with that, but most people like to indulge in garbage once in a while. And there's bad garbage and not-as-bad garbage...
@gojoe28333 жыл бұрын
@EpsilonGoods I can't argue with that. Sugar is total garbage and the less we intake the better. So is most of the processed food we consume. The companies dump cocktails of unknown chemicals into the food we consume and that's why we suffer from health issues. Jot just diabetes and obesity, but autism, heart disease, lung disease... Ad nauseum

That’s a myth. Science has clearly refuted that. High fructose corn syrup is good for you at best and not a negative factor at worst.

I think you can still buy “ real sugar “ Coke at the store or my local Safeway has them in the bottles. Like many things too much isn’t good for you!

My boyfriend showed me this the other day, now I have this song stuck in my head and I'm playing it over and over again singing loudly to myself along with the lyrics. The irony is I don't even drink that much soda (maybe two cans a week on average).

Glenn Yarborough who’s the lead vocalist for the group does the voiceover. He’s done commercials for Busch Beer as well as his solo career (Baby The Rain Must Fall)

@@H2R504 Neat info, thanks! I recognize him now (I was hearing Jack Linkletter - residue from a Hootenany commercial, no doubt) ;)

One of the movers is Ray Bolger (the Scarecrow in "The Wizard of Oz").

Actually, neither one of those movers is Ray Bolger. The shorter one looks like him but is not.
@mecdutempsjadis Жыл бұрын
The mover mistaken for Ray Bolger is character actor Bill McCutcheon (1924-2002).
