Using a basketball is awesome. Other dent repair videos are in line but this case you didn’t use glue and pulling devices, instead pushing. The hammer was consistent. I’m researching because I have a 70, Beetle with dents from a run in with a dear.

Love that story telling eyes song. Nice body work looks like you know a little something about it tap down the high spots and draw out the low. Also heating and then cooling will shrink back the metal.

I always started with a Basketball for the larger areas, and went down to a football for tighter areas like that seam. And if you heat up the metal with a heat gun or hair dryer for that matter, it will pop back easier. Moe

Nice to see Daisy still has a bite, only fair, repayment for the dent. I did notice the driver side tail pipe has escaped your welding technique. Great use of Patina's chew toy, she would have been happy to deflate it for the cause. One more cartoon balloon tire on the left rear and you will have a hilarious video (teeter totter cornering). Good-Bye Patina, a little epoxy and a rope, you would have popped that dent right out.

If you put masking tape on your dollies it will help keep from scratching and chipping the paint. Just a tip I learned a long time ago

@@vwnut1967 my friend has a huge dent in his MX-5 Miata driverside fender. He is going back and forth with the lady's insurance company about the cost of the repair. It's worth the cost of a basketball to use it to pop out the dent

Not trained? I've seen you bring old oxidized paint back! Wet sand in the rain, use a buffer! Too late!!! The word is already out...I saw a guy in Texas who had a bug with old paint and the guy I was with said..."You should VWnut 1967 that paint to get it back!" (ok that really didn't happen, but your pretty good in 3-step process to bring back the shine!)

The way I learned was to get in one and start tinkering. They are very simple. Just be patient. Buy a repair manual. Most of all have a e time
