This magnificent 1965 Fleta was brought to me to represent last year. It was in brand new condition, having spent it's life under a bed as it were. It was however unplayable due to a significant backbow in the fingerboard. When the owner handed me the guitar and spoke, I felt it jump in my hands, which is always a very good sign for how an instrument might sound. The original fingerboard on the guitar, thankfully, was so overly thick it was almost comical. I have never seen a fingerboard that was close to a half inch thick. This made it very easy to bring the guitar up to perfect playing condition because as it was, even if the fingerboard was perfectly straight, only a gorilla would be able to play it.
Once it was up and playing it was quite clear to me that this was one of the finest examples of this maker's work I have ever encountered. This guitar has incredible projection and horsepower yet dignified and compelling tone. It has found it's new home and is no longer for sale, however we are keeping this video as a testimony to a wonderful guitar.
