My station though it would be great to straight pipe our pumpers, man them Detroits sound so good. The 8v92ta is just a nasty.

The corn along the roads looked very good. The engine sounds strong. Thanks for sharing.

My station runs our 1989 pumper straight, them 6v92ta scream and the Jake echoes in the cab. I love it. I love running open cab. Winter sucks but I am a firefighter and we have to toughen up but I also work outside all day so I still love open cab

The straight pipes act as the siren.

Our township department had early 80's Maxim with a 6-71. When that truck was on scene pumping...you COULD NOT understand a word the pump operator was saying whether using a portable or the David Clark headset at the panel. The noise was prohibitive although it sounded good.

Was this a repower 6V92? Based on 1966 year it could have been a 6-71 inline or 6V71. The 92 series was introduced in 1974.

She had a Waukesha gas engine originally, IIRC, and was repowered with a 6v92TA and refurbed in 1987 by Custom Fire in Wisconsin. She was recently tuned by Bryan Ussatis.

Sounds like an automatic, unless the gears are being shifted at an unbelievable speed.
