Love the Black over White color combo.I was never much for vinyl roofs.Sounds like a bearing needs to be replaced but other than that it's MAGNIFICENT

I live in Prague and today I saw this thing for the very first time. (The one I saw was white.) It's absolutely stunning and gorgeous in person, my jaw dropped. One of the sleekest US old-timers, if not the sleekest one. OMFG #buickrivera

Absolutely stunning. I like how there are similarities to the 79 my Dad had (in Black). Rear quarters at the rear are almost identical. Absolutely amazing

Pretty. GS emblem in grille is incorrect as is Buick crest on console; Riviera script is an add-on and has incorrect headrests for a '66-67, these headrests are corporate '68-72 headrests like from a Chevelle catalogue. Washer bottle is from older model GM, '66 Rivieras never had this design, had a white/clear plastic tank. Engine sounds oil starved also. But a pretty car

This car is so badass, it would be worth the 5 miles per gallon of premium high octane $10/gal gasoline necessary to drive it.

-Always loved these rides since I was a kid. But also always liked the fronts of the 1963s-'65s better, wish they kept it on for the '66s-onward.

regardless of the inconsistent emblems on the car, other than that strange noise from the engine, it's still an AWESOME CAR. the VOGUE TYRES add more CLASS to a already CLASSY "RIV". ENJOY

The 1966 GS did not have a GS badge in the grill or on the trunk. The side marker lights in the front bumper are on the 67 only. Should also have a console shiftier. Had one and restored it in 1980.

Yep is is a clone. The A/C pulley on the GS version should also be the larger type due to it would have 3:42 posi gear ration.

what a fabulous car, and design! I know what that engine sounds like, just a bad recording... can't believe it has a column shift though!!
@OliverWoodphotography6 жыл бұрын
I think the riv was one of the sexiest US cars ever made --- but the recording of engine is bit off here ?

sounds like nail head. Nicely equipped car.

I had both a '66 (non GS) Riv and a '67 model too. This one has a lot going for it but there are some things not correct. GS emblem on grille is incorrect, late model center caps are wrong, and why cover up the "wood" steering wheel? Those horns? Nope. Hood hinges should be black, etc.

what the... why does the engine sound like it needs a rebuild ASAP

What was the knocking sound from the engine? It sounded like a diesel and I know it's not a diesel.Beautiful Riviera though for sure.

This car is not at GS... The gran sport emblem on the trunk is from a 65, an was not present on the trunk of an 66 GS. The GS emblem on the fenders were square letters in 66. The emblem under the glovecompartment is missing. The 66 Rivieras GS did'nt have a GS emblem in the grill. And the white front corner- lights was not present on 66's. That said, the car looks nice, but the engine has a mean problem with the clancking noise :(

The cornering lights are present, I hyave them on mine
@FLAPPERFROM10 жыл бұрын
you have a great eye because as soon as I saw the GS on the grill, i thought maybe i was mistaken. good catches.

also, wasn't the GS ALWAYS a console shifter? that console in there looks odd...

+Robert LaPointe I had a 1964 Buick Wildcat with cornering lights, they were optional on full size Buicks except the Riviera. They were optional again in 1965 on full size Buicks except for the Rivieras. They were standard on Cadillacs starting in 1963. The 1966 Tornado and full size Oldsmobiles had cornering lights as an option. They were not side markers, they were activated with the each turn signal and the headlights had to be on. The 1966 Rivieras had cornering lights as an option, my 1966 Riviera GS has cornering lights, NO GS badging in the grill or trunk but on the side aft of the front wheel forward of the door and below the glove compartment.

Cadillacs did as standard I think in 65, I think Electra's did as a option

Beautiful car, the only mod I would do is replace the front drum brakes for disc. This car is too heavy & powerful. Enjoy it.
