1966 Ford 4000 Tractor Maintenance - Coolant & Transmission Fluid

Hi.
In this video I have drained out the water from the radiator, and changed the transmission fluid.
I've added 6L of antifreeze liquid and somewhat 15L of transmission oil.
Coolant type: Kynita GLICOXOL PLUS Long Life G12+
Transmission fliud type: Mobil Mobilfluid 424 Multipurpose Tractor Oil
Meets requierments for: Ford ESN-M2C-134D
I searched on many forums and I eventually found out what type of transmission oil it's reccomended for my tractor.
I hope you find it useful.
Also, the video shows you where the level plug is located.

Crisseu De fapt, schimbul l-am facut intr-o duminica dupa masa. Nu e o liniste completa, adesea se aud gainile in fundal, sau alte elemente. Te salut. Multumesc pentru comentariu.

Te salut Dave!Ce bine că pui și antigelul în sistemul de răcire, are,printre altele și rolul de a proteja pompa de apă, că lubrifiant al acesteia.In general vorbind,un sistem de răcire cu antigel își face treaba mult mai bine,în orice condiții de funcționare ale motorului. Cât despre uleiul de transmisie și eu folosesc Mobilfluid 424 și Mobilfluid426(când am de ăsta),la al meu M.F.690T.Bravo și felicitări, un video foarte relaxant, mi-a facut plăcere! 👍

Please look at the video at 13min20sec. When you accelerate the tractor the lower radiator hose collapses. This means that the radiator is plugged this is why your tractor was still overheating. I liked the rest of the video. Thank you

Yes, the radiator was cloggers up. I have replaced it.

If you watch the video on playback the radiator hose sucks in at 13.18. Possibly a sign of a bad radiator cap or a radiator pipe needs replacing. I’d test it again when cold and replace the cap. If it happens when hot you may have a faulty thermostat.

Hello. I have noticed that too, but didn’t really think much of it. Thanks for the heads up, I will definitely test it and try to figure out what is wrong. If needed, I’ll buy a new radiator cap, or a thermostat. Many thanks for your support. I appreciate it.

Hey just joined your channel. At the 5:46 you drained the engine block with a special valve. What is that part called? I have a 1966 ford 3000 and it appears mine is just a broken plug. I would like to replace with the proper part before I change my coolant. Great video.

Hello. At 5:46 I am using my hand to open the block drain valve, but I do not know for sure how that part is called. Apparently, the part it’s simply called “block coolant drain”, as I’ve seen online.

Hello, and sorry for the late reply. Yes, I still own the Audi and I do maintenance work on it. But mostly just oil changes and filters. Still, I go to a mechanic when changing brake pads, discs and other consumables. Thank you for the comment and stay safe.

Is the same oil for transmission and hydraulics on this ford 4000?

Antonis Petsas.v Not really. Both the transmission and the hydraulics have their own drain & fill plugs. And so the oil it’s not being shared jointly in both sides. Therefore the oil that I used in the transmission is different from the hydraulic oil. But I suggest you go google it as there are people who explain it way better than this. Do some research.
