Was that a 5x3? How did you shift it and did you shift both sticks simultaneously on a compound upshift?

Beautiful old survivor. All she needs to complete the look is a vintage dump trailer.

I put a lot of miles on some R model Mack's . Pulled a dump trailer. They do have a sound all their own.

Mack built 3 types of engines, Maxitorque, Maxidyne, Econodine. Depending upon what application and fuel economy was desired

Mack introduced the 237 in 1966 or ‘68 and it had around 850 ft lbs of torque, compared to the 6-71 Detroit with 611 ft lbs that lost most of its power going uphill. The 237 Mack had the highest torque in a small block until Cummins introduced the L10 in the early ‘80s.

They made B & R/U/DM for a couple years together. I believe that started in 64. Maybe 66 was the year they stopped B models.

Omg I’m in H E.A VE N! The Dog 🐶 is on the runway like a top model!!! As it should be- massive props to MACK AS THEIR BULLDOGGER TRUCKS WON WARS AND BUILT DAMS AND THE WORLD AFTER all the way UP ‘TIL NOW THEY CREATED A NICHE CALLED As a matter Of fact their trucks were so mighty and indestructible- relentless actually, the they had a niche created FOR THEM S E V E R E D U T Y ! No one does it better or with more oomph than a mighty Mack with a 🐶 350, a 🐶 400, a 🐶 427, or even the mighty 🐶 dog v8 500 hp When you see a Mack attack with a bronze bulldog perched to leap on the hood ( actually was made from an original wood carving done by MACK chief designer ALFRED MASURY, while he was bedridden in hospital for a severe Appendicitis attack in the early ‘30’s ) Before the bronze leaping bulldog as Good ornament where Motometer used to be, there used to be a tin plate not Far from the chain drive sprocket on the old A C and A K ‘s, which had a BULLDOG TEARING UP A WAD OF BILLS SAYING - CUT YOUR OPERATING COSTS with a M A C K! The whole Bulldog Moniker came during ww1 (1914- 1918- SHAME on YOU IF this IS A REVELATION TO YOU AMERICANS) l From the British whose trucks failed miserably in the mud and horrible Conditions of war- they would scream “GET THE mighty BULLDOG MACK IN HERE- it won’t Fail I promise ya mates! As it’s simply our Only hope to get the wounded out and ammo and food In!” And so the ac became known as the bulldog

Maxidynes started as 300-s 237 wst a thermodyne. I believe. I may be wrong but every maxidyne I drove was a 300 or 350
@cindytepper88785 жыл бұрын
66 was pre-Maxidyne, late 67-68 was first Maxidyne 237. We had a couple of them. The first ones used studs and nuts to hold the flywheels on, had an American Bosch pump #APE-6BB110T-5757-M1 and the owners manual had a separately bound "Maxidyne Supplement" included in the package. Engine would have been stamped ENDT-675 up by the timing gear case. They also used a big full flow Lubrifiner oil filter on a bracket bolted to the driver's side of the engine
