Awesome to watch--Love those old uniforms too. A very neat era of football--Thanks for posting this!

I like the way that the Steelers uniforms are basically the same as they were then, but in 1966 they had the gold on the shoulders, they should use this style for their throw back uniforms.

Have had the same helmets since 1962. They used the "batman" uniforms from 1966 through 1968.

I think that they should bring them back permanently, especially now that the sleeves are so short it's hard to do the sleeve stripes justice

A terrific look of the 1966 Pittsburgh Steelers-and the infamous "Batman" uniforms they wore.

I liked them.

Glad you do. The 1966-67 Pittsburgh Steelers "Batman" unis aren't the worst uniforms in the history of NFL; the 1960-61 Denver Broncos togs are considered the worst.

I was born in 1966 and became a Steelers fan in 1975. My dad was from Uniontown, Pa. The Steelers were Always a hard hitting football team even in the years when they were losing. I played some football & spent six years in the Army. Today's League is a Woke joke and painful to watch because of how soft the game has become. Some are quick to point out that today's players are bigger, stronger, faster, etc. Those attributes do Not equate to physical & mental toughness and those players had those qualities in spades. Thanks for uploading this little gem.

I have one of those black "Batman" jerseys, I too wish they would wear them as throwbacks!

Middle linebacker, Saul, explained that Coach Austin's practices were grueling to the point that, by game time, the team was often already tired and beat up. Perhaps, if Austin had gone easier on the team, they might have, at least, had a break-even record. And, no way were they going to allow themselves to be upset by the expansion Falcons. They hamnered the birds. Beating mighty Cleveland was a big win, something to be proud of. To me, Saul embodied that team in the way that Butkus embodied the Bears. That Pittsburgh defense was scrappy and nasty. Browns' Leroy Kelly, in recalling their games with the Steelers then, said Pittsburgh's defense, "was no party." Read that in a sports magazine long back.

The QB #14 for the Cardnals was a former Steeler Terry Nofsinger. This was also the rookie year for QB Jim Hart who would go on the be the Cardnals QB for the next 17 years starting the 67 season.

@TTony-tu6dm no. They lost to Chicago. It was the bears only win that year. Had the steelers won that game it could altered history. Bradshaw could have been drafted by the bears. In 1969 the Steelers won their first game vs Detroit. Lost their next 16 games going into the 1970 season.

In 1963, Ed Brown passed the Steelers to a 7-4-3 record. He succeeded Bobby Layne as the starter. The next season, Brown floundered and for the remainder of the 1960s, the Steelers went thru a parcel of quarterbacks-Bill Nelsen, Ron Smith, Kent Nix, Dick Shiner, Terry Hanratty. None produced well until the arrival of #1 draftee Terry Bradshaw in 1970.
