Hi, sorry I didn’t answer you sooner. The cable attaches to the gas pedal. Look by the firewall. There’s a vertical bar on the gas pedal linkage. It attaches to that. So when you stomp on the gas, it pulls the cable and causes the transmission to downshift. If I understand you correctly, if you left the jumper wire in. The reverse lights would be on all the time.

Agreed , I seldom wear gloves. But there was a lot of tranny gunk.

I agree with "tear the bad boy off" but what is with the "pansy?" That part is a little much. I often wear gloves, depending on what I am doing. I worked in the automotive industry for 40 years and one thing I've learn is that what ever gets on your skin gets into your blood. When your hands get saturated in oils or fluids your skin absorbs it like crazy and large amounts get to your blood. You can wash your hands with quick orange or whatever hand cleaner you want, but you can't get the stuff out that's absorbed in your skin and blood. These oils and chemicals are highly carcinogenic, and dangerous... You might as well drink it. I wouldn't call someone a pansy who refuses to drink tranny fluid my friend.

Unless you're going to live in a bubble or abandon modern society altogether and live in a remote forest, there's no escaping it. People that have never turned a wrench their entire life, die of cancer every day and others that slog through the muck sometimes live to a ripe old age.
