Terrific video. Beautifully maintained car. My '66 912 was originally slate grey but repainted black when it was shipped from California to the UK. Both colours are great. Most important is they're running well.

Excellent video. Thank you! AND with no hideous background music. I'd like to make one correction,............the 912 was not an entry level Porsche. It was the car which was produced between the 356 and early 911's to enhance sales of early model cars since 911's were priced higher. Porsche reached a broader market with a lower priced model, the 912. It's engine, the 356 1600 SC was built into a 911 chassis.

The cheapest car you can afford new is, by definition, the entry level. So yes, the 912 was the entry level Porche, as it has been released just afther the 356 production ended.

The announcer jumped from 912 to 924 for a comparison but bypassed the 914 which replaced the 912. For shame!

The porsche line at the time was that the 912 was to replace the 356. The 911 , they said, was always intended to be the new, more expensive, supercar. This was a big fat lie. The first 911 was rear heavy, expensive, unreliable and gutless under 5000rpm and sales were poor. They had a load of 356 engines to use up as well. They panicked and made the 912. It out sold the 911 2 to 1 and saved the company
