We use an empty paint sprayer for the final sand removal and have real good luck. Your work ethics are superb

HVAC tip here bring in a combustion air pipe from the outside and your pressure switch problems will be gone as long as it’s sealed properly 👍

It's covers good. I never sprayed water born paint. Always painted base coat and clear coat on my vehicle you guys doing a alsome job .Blair you are Alsome nice paint job.What size tip are you using on your spray gun is it 1.5 tip.I just painted my 77 ford pickup f250 in July of 2023 the color is midnight blue metallic I used 2 gallons of clear on it. The clear went for $525.00 each gallon with the hardner .I spent over $2,000.00 on all the supplies paint supplies .man the price of paint supplies are out of the roof.

I do learn body work stuff through content, picking up tips, and observing techniques. Not having to prep and paint the roof is HUGE too. With 10k a low starting point on paint, and bodywork it is not achievable to slot of people. I am going to paint my 69 442 myself. Great work guys.

Hi Mike, hi Blair, Before putting the interior back in the car you could do this to protect the floor. Get a pot or two of wheel bearing grease and spread the grease on the floor. Cover floor with a thick sheet of plastic. Reinstall door moldings.Put sound insulation back where it goes on top of plastic. Cover plastic with carpet and install remainder of interior. Rol

I truly enjoy this format more than the "made for tv" It just seems like the made for tv is just the drama. Seeing the guy do stuff and explain how it goes into play with everything else is way more educative than the " shit this part doesnt fit " kind of thing. Big props to mike and blair on this!

When I was in my early 20's I once painted a car using a roller. I kept the paint in the refrigerator and waited till sunset and painted the car in the driveway while holding a flashlight. as each coat dried, I used the 3M scuffer pad to take down the orange peel. keeping the paint cold and using a paint roller and painting in the evening, enables the paint to smooth out after 4 coats resulted in a nice high gloss that looked like it was sprayed on! I painted a 1984 caprice deep violet base. I bought a few cases of it from Liquidation World. I think I only spent about $80 to paint a whole fullsize car!

Best episode so far. Just keep filling the work on car’s . No bull crap.

29:03 Absolutely. You know that addage about the last 10% taking 90% of the time? (or whatever it is) That was what I was trying to get across to the guys. Get it to the point where it's good enough but not perfect. Then the extra time can be spent on more important areas, if need be, or if you want to impress the customer. You can't spend all the customer's money perfecting something he or she will never see, or didn't ask for. Then try to explain to them why you need more money or to finish the job. That's what makes them have a bad experience (...and bleeds you dry). Now if you're building a show car to win an award... That's another story. But even then, push comes to shove dedicate the time on what's most important, and try not to fixate.

Painted a old gmc truck and that color was called cardinal red that had a orange look to it looks great
