The PA Announcer is Claude Mouton, who also was the legendary PA voice of the Montreal Canadiens.

Poor Don Bosch never made it back to the Majors after his knee surgery on July 17, 1969. Traded to Astros in 1970 for Mike Marshall. Marshall would be traded after the 1973 season closing out a great career with Expos for an aging Willie Davis. Marshall would go on to be a key closer for the Dodgers and would win a Cy Young in 1974. Expos made many many questionable trades in the 1970's.

As mentioned by Russ Taylor poor Don Bosch would never play in the Majors ever again after his knee surgery of July 17th 1969. Bosch would be traded to Astros organization in the 1970 off season for Mike Marshall. Marshall would go on to play 4 solid years for the Expos winning 14 games in 72 and 73. For some unexplainable reason Expos would trade Marshall in the off season of 74 to the Dodgers for an aging Willie Davis. Marshall would go on to win the Cy Young in 1974. Expos would make many questionable trades in their history, but the Expos could draft and develop All Star talent during their history in Montreal.

Expos at that point (1974) were desperate for a left-handed power hitter and a left-handed starter. What they SHOULD'VE done is, if they knew the Dodgers wanted Mike Marshall that much, insisted on getting Doug Rau and Geoff Zahn in return. Had they done that, they would not have made that idiotic trade with the Orioles a year later. Ah, Jim....

Willie Star-GELL. Accent on the second syllable. Even the PA announcer. Where did that come from?
@pierrelevasseur2701 Жыл бұрын
I think it might be how they are trained. Or it's the way it's supposed to be pronounced. As an aside, he hit a homerun the previous game into the pool in right field. It became known as "Willie's pool / la piscine de Willie". When Stargell retired, the Expos gifted him a life preserver.

not in 1969...it was the legendary hal kelly..brother of legendary hockey announcer dan kelly and uncle of current st.louis blues pbp john kelly. there's a 1970's expos/pirates game on you tube featuring kelly and the legendary double d..don drysdale. I believe van horne started with drysdale in 1971.
