Great video, I learned to drive in a 67 Impala 4 door hardtop. My dad bought me a 57 150 Chevy he paid $25.00 for because it had a new battery. I drove it thru high school, got dissed because the previous owner painted it dark green with house paint and a brush. Loved that car, and kept it for years.

RamblinAround Have you ever seen a channel called the Barn Find Hunter? One episode had a beautiful 1962 Ford Country Squire station wagon with these GREAT BONES and minimal rust. They rebuilt the car, kept the factory paint, and gave it a great interior treatment with a Mexican blanket motif. And it was built from parts found in the same salvage yard that it was found in down in Midland, Texas. Then when it was finished, they gave the car to a restoration school in Kansas. That to me was a case of saving a great car from a terrible fate of crumbling away and going to waste. Have you and Jordan ever considered that option?

For 1969 Chevrolet Impala V-8, 2 door hardtop, vent wing windows are gone, and adjustable head restraints come. There are 2 versions of 2 door hardtop for 1969 Chevrolet Impala. The Super Sport (last year) version is a fastback styling and the Custom version is a notchback version.

The very first car I owned was a '69 Impala 2dr Custom coupe. It had a 350 V8 with 300HP..but for some reason it had only a single exhaust. I bought the car in DEC '75 when I was station in the Philippines from another sailor who was being transferred back to the states. My car was green. I had it painted a darker green with a Starsky & Hutch strip. Yep.. and had dual exhaust installed. That car was very fast. I wish I had a picture. Oh well. time marches on!

My Grandpa only bought ONE new car in his life and it was this one exactly except it had a 350. He even sprang for A/C (but he never turned it on because it hurt the mileage?!) Six months into it He was hit head on by a Camper and almost killed.......and then he bought a used 4 door Impala with no air to replace it. He made it to 91 and put 300K on it!

My dad had a blue one, black vinyl top, but I believe it was a 69 because it had a 350. I remember driving down to the shore, and he would get it up to a 100mph!! Scary fun! Cool to still see them in this shape with working a/c!!

Good looking car, I had a 1969 Impala like this in Blue, 350, 3 speed auto. It was a great ride till I saw a '69 Chevelle SS396 4 speed ... Most people don't realize dealers at that time couldn't sell "Muscle Cars." We actually traded even after I told him the Impala would sell a lot faster than the Chevelle, and he knew it. Thanks Jeff for another great video.

I was really thinking about buying it with money in hand and wanted to test drive it but the guy said I couldn't and acted like it would be a big hassle to get it out. I figured they didn't want to sell it so I left and I decided to not buy from them... I have always wanted a late 60's impala, they are really cool cars

I always liked the tail lights on the 69 better than on a 1970 and the wrap around front bumper design...The 69's had a 300 hp 350 option A friend of mine had a 4 door with the 350 ..Also I have been told the 327 in 69 was a 350 block with different rods and or crankshaft ..I never searched any info on them though

RamblinAround This was when even the family grocery- getter had decent power and could push itself down the highway. Now it's all a numbers game of mpg and resale value, not whether it was built to last. And the worst part of today's cars is everything looks like everything else. Who wants that? Not you, not me, not anyone with real American blood!

I had a 4 door version of this car with the same engine back in the day. Not a fan. The front ends in these wouldn't hold alignment. Front tire eaters for sure. It was always on the alignment rack. Otherwise, a typical family car of the time.
@johnbeer52425 жыл бұрын
William Wintemberg really🤔was the whole suspension shot up 🤔like meaning u probably had to replace everything ball joints upper and lower, tie rods center link Pittman arm and if the car had front drum brakes some mechanics suck at adjusting them so when u hit the brakes the cars goes to the side ,🤔even a while back they had aftermarket performance suspension parts that are not that expensive that will make it handle even better. my brother had one and took it to the shop for alignment and was trying to work miracles with 40 year old car and suspension parts 😂 like u need to change everything all the rubbers are cracked
@williamwintemberg5 жыл бұрын
@@johnbeer5242 Hi John! When I had mine it was three years old. I am old. Where most cars of that size had double A frame suspension this one had it with a twist. It had an upper A frame but where the lower A frame would be wasn't an A frame. It was more like a straight arm. It had an eccentric setup where it was mounted to the frame that was used for alignment. It all worked well until you hit a good bump. Then it was off to the alignment rack if you wanted to keep front tires on it. There were no worn parts or bushings. Maybe today there is a fix for it but back then there wasn't. I put around 80 thousand miles on the car and sold it. I made it a point to ask other owners of this car if they had similar problems and they did. It was just a poor design or a poor use of a good design.

Oh man, so regular, as in its actually what people drove back in the day. Cruise in night, you'd think everybody drove skittle colored cars. Nobody likes the looks dirty when clean brown, gold and green paint that most cars were painted in the 60's/70's Watch enough TV auctions, you'd think every 60's Impala came as a convertible or had a 427 under the hood.
