“Open Up! With Your 1969 Chevrolet Sports Department!” is a Chevrolet dealer training film from the Fall of 1968 introducing the dealership sales staff to the Camaro, Corvette, Corvair, and Chevelle SS 396.
Since this film was created before the cars went into full production, some of the information is incomplete and the cars shown may not represent the production version. For instance, the 396ci/375hp engine is not mentioned for the Camaro or Chevelle SS 396. Also, the Chevelle SS 396 is shown with several features from the ’68 Chevelle that were not used on the ’69 SS 396 (the wheels shown are not the 5-spoke wheels that were standard equipment on a '69 SS 396, polished exhaust tips are missing, the photo of the engine compartment shows a '68 power steering reservoir). It's surprising that the L88 engine (427ci/430hp) is mentioned for the Corvette.

This film was intended for internal use at the dealership and was not shown publicly. This video was created from a filmstrip and companion 33-1/3 vinyl record from my personal collection. This film was not downloaded or copied from another source.

I'm surprised the Corvair even got mentioned in this training film. Chevrolet did have one hell of a line up in 1969; Without even mentioning the full size, & the Chevrolet Nova models in this training film.

Exactly! Where is the SS 427 Impala and the Nova SS 350 or 396?

Nice dealer film! Mr. sport parachutist must have been a Paratrooper in Vietnam 66 to 67 and made it out alive, still likes the thrill of jumping out of perfectly good aircraft. 😆 I still think the Corvair should have continued in production and updated for 1971.

The last stand of the Corvair...in fact any customer who wanted information about it had to contact GM to receive a brochure--they weren't being distributed to the dealers anymore.
