This is what I like the most about this era, they were trying so many different things, layouts, basically rethinking almost every part. Electric hatch lift mechanism, I mean, this is wayyyy overkill but that part of the history! Almost no regulation, imagination was the limit aha

I love how all the gauges work exactly how you would expect them to work on an old Italian car. Fuel = empty RPM moves digitally from 1500 -> 3000 -> 4000 -> 5000 and nothing in-between 😂🤣

@@merik7928 false, it's an electronic issue. I've had these tach issues in swapped cars like my old 1JZ Cressida which is Japanese. If the signal isn't pulsing right, it'll send wacky signals to the gauge. These electronics are old at this point, but also Italian electronics isn't reliable either so...

Very nice video, thank you! Fulvia has always been an icon, even when it was still in production. I'm an Italian born in the 60's, when I was child I remember that it was easy to recongnise a Fulvia arriving just from the typical sound... and everytime it was a head turner for its elegance and sportivity at the same time (as all the Lancias). When the Fulvia won at the Montecarlo Rally in 1972, it had an enormous bounce of popularity and also a big (unexpectd) increase in sales, convincing Fiat to prolongue the production for 3 years yet, up to 1975, with the final 3rd serie (called "Fulvia 3"). Personally, I finally reached the dream of having one in 2014, an amazing HF 1,6 Rosso Montebello. A little piece of one of the best made in Italy ever created.

Lancia mande some crazy good cars in their heyday and I think that I'm right in saying they have won more rally championships than any other manufacturer. The V is so narrow on this engine that it is almost a square 4, it's something like a 30 degree V, single cylinder head, a bit like the disastrous VW narrow angle V6. I had the chance to buy a Lancia Monte Carlo cheap a few years ago, it had a ton of rust in it and I thought it would be too hard to fix, I wish I had taken a chance on it now.

It’s too bad Lancia pulled out of the US in 1982 when Fiat did. If only the quality was better, it’s really tragic because Lancia’s up to then were almost always beautiful to look at and incredible to drive. I had a 1972 Fulvia coupe that was stunning to look at and drove just like the car in this video. My uncle who lives in Germany has a Lancia Delta Integrale, which is a car you really need to review for this show. It’s very fast and is famous for winning rallies. It’s also very well made and solid and very reliable.

@@TedwardDrives Isn’t the Fulvia coupe a blast to drive? I also love how it feels like you’re always going much faster than you actually are, I’ve likely avoided lots of speeding tickets because I don’t have to be going over 80 mph to get a thrill out of it. The Lancia Delta Integrale HF model can hit 60 in 3.4 seconds, it would be great if you could test one of those! It’s a shame you can’t take it off road, or in snow, to see how truly extraordinary a car it really is.

Ford also had a V4 back in the 60's & 70's. There were 1.7 & 2.0 liter variants of it. It used to power cars such as the Taunus, Euro spec, Transit Van, Corsair, euro spec Capri, & other models, and the Cologne V6 if I am not mistaken was derived or is related to that engine.

Not great to start a car with the clutch disengaged. It can cause premature wear. Most modern cars have an interlock so you need to depress it, but best to avoid it when possible. I like to keep a foot on the brake when I don't use the clutch just in case the car was actually in gear.
