My L78 Nova has a Comp Magnum solid flat tappet with 248 duration at .050, 595 lift on both int & exh and 110 lsa. Mine is choppy but not choppy like this cam.

They didnt he obviously put a different cam in. Restored some L78 and L89 Camaros in the 80s down to the GM cam and know how they sound

@@kimmorrison9169 Good line of cams...the 282s was my fav st/strip from comp More of an isky/crower guy but their older solid grinds ran well.

beat on a 2 bolt 396 for an afternoon you come home with wrist pin knock..brand new engine too. Was in CC back in the early 90s Love those engines though not sure why. Make plenty of torque and sound killer with turbos n turndown.

jim clearman 396hp on open headers, if I remember correctly about 20 hp difference open to closed headers. Have a look throughout my channel and have a look at the Vega Panel! Same motor with a tunnel ram and 2-600 Holleys, larger headers 2 1/8 primary's, sounds way better now...

the L-78 cam is a fairly mild cam. The L-88 cam is pretty radical.....BIG DIFFERANCE between these two cams.

That has alot more lobe then a L 88.

Just listened to this nova with my beats headphones. Holy crap. Totally random video as are most of them. Very nice motor. Update: the owner now driving a Prius. J/K

I was thinking the same thing.

The L-78 cam is identical to the L-72 , 427/425 and the LS -6 , 454/450 . If the idle had been turned up a couple hundred rpm it wouldn't be so noticable , which was an old trick to lure in unsuspecting people to a race they couldn't possibly win .

I was asked the other day if my truck had a 3/4 cam in it. I replied... Nope. It has full cam. It wouldn't run with a of the 1/4 cam missing from it. Old school term.

Dyno, 396HP, 396 HP to the rear wheels. It now had the original 396/375 in it again, and I put the 427 in a 72 Vega Panel.

@@msh6865 Yup, and the entire manufacturing sector, it's seemingly endless and it will all have to be changed. But, the imminent threat is C02, the experts tell us we have seven years to reach carbon neutrality before we reach the point of no return (see domesday clock, NYC)... I know I don't have all the answers, but it's a case of first things first, and we are out of control at this point. Glorifying this kind of inane use of energy is just an example of that and may engender complacency and encourage others to do the same.... So, I guess, I'd rather live on a dirty planet than none at all, and you're right, it's not an easy choice.
