Well done; as an old long time coach of many sports the magic words you're hinting at are FOLLOW THROUGH; more then finishing the car it is completed. In your profession as in throwing a baseball, letting a trey fly or tackling and recreating a classic car is FOLLOW THROUGH, going beyond yields your best effort (sorry, coaching again)

We bought this exact car (same VIN) brand new from Paul Brothers Oldsmobile in Washington, DC. Originally, it was an a/c car with real vents. It ended up being a hand me down to me; I still have the original GM Protect-O-Plate.

Oldsmobiles were great cars!! As far as GM, everything above a Chevrolet (I'm a Chevy guy) was better quality and craftsmanship, including driving experience.

I have owned 2-70 442s, a 70 cutlass Convertible Rally pak , M21, 433 dealer installed limited slip, cars a 68 442 a 65 442, but a good friend had a 69 442, red/red long stroke 400, in 69 there were short and long, long is better, disks, rallye 1s, am-fm stereo, m21 and 391 limited slip,, the 69 had the best balance for handling that I have driven in a 442, Not that these are 90 degree hairpin curve cars, but this has an edge, in my opinion.

I have a numbers matching 69 442 Conv I own since 1978 . I think the owner never should have tried to imitate the extremely rare W30 Conv which are practically non existent these days. Should have left the car the way it was built. The obvious Buick wheels too are offensive. Hard to fake it.
