WOW. most metalcore vocalists that switch back and forth from screams to cleans usually have HORRIBLE live cleans but HOLY SHIT Emma is AMAZING which is honestly even MORE insane cause it doesn't sound like she's using a healthy screaming technique. it sounds like she's hurting herself, yet her voice is STILL somehow surviving

Not too often you get a band that can actually play their music as tight and clean as them. Definitely a metalcore revival happening and they’re on top.

90% of bands don't. Doing something well can be enough. Also, while the 00s melodic metalcore thing has obviously been done before, there aren't a ton of new bands doing it now. There are generations now who only got to hear peak As I Lay Dying or early Killswitch Engage by going 10 - 15 years into the past and for whom supposedly legendary bands like Parkway Drive are no more synonymous with lame stadium metal than metalcore. Those people now get to see something all that live, in small venues from a new band that's theirs, not just listen to old recordings. That has value and appeal. Shit, as an older head, I like being able to see this stuff in small venues again played by people who are so visibly energised by it and still hungry rather than phoning it in for their 1500th show. And with an audience that wants to hardcore dance. Precious few people hardcore dancing at the shows of all the veteran melodic metalcore bands.

Metalcore was solved basically 15 years ago, you can't really do anything "new and original" in this genre anymore. That being said, their music slaps so people fuck with it.

the dudes are awesome at screaming and she's great at singing but I don't consistently love her screaming. Also they keep telling the crowd to mosh harder and spread out -- and I could be wrong... but that place looks packed beyond safe/reasonable standards. People are on top of eachother, so there's no real space to give room to more people moshing. More people would be moshing if there weren't so many people.
