Thanks for the video, helped me out a lot when I did mine today. Only thing I found vs your video was that it was better for me when doing the outside piece, from the seam to the outside of the car, to start in the middle top (right along the seam) and slowly working outward front to back and down the middle and then finally to the rear quarter section, then onto the a pillar last. Thanks again.

We used to set 3 or 4 hundred a day on the line. there were four guys setting the top and two guys trimming it. The car was sprayed up the line and the underside of the vinyl top was sprayed ahead of time off line on sub assembly line ten at a time

Did This for a living back in the 80's about 25 to 35 tops a week ...When doing the rear quarters which always is the hardest part because of rinkles.. Use a Heat gun to warm up the vinyl in that area first then (pass.side)at 5:57 his body is in good position but with your left hand get a good grip and pull down with a constant hard pull and to the left and at the same time with palm of right hand smooth down from the top corner of rear window to bottom of body of car and to the left along the edge.. ahh what the hell I'll just come by and show ya ...LOL... good Luck

Nice job. Being an automotive trimmer by trade, I would suggest both men should be wearing respirators. Glue fumes can be nasty.

When i disassembled my 69 chargers drip edge moldings, the original vinyl material did overhang on the drip edge. There was clearly a good 1/8 to a 1/4 inch of the original vinyl material under the drip moldings and they were clamping down on the vinyl all along the edge. So it'd be interesting to know how they did it in this video, where does the vinyl end along the drip edge exactly? There's also a clear size difference in the original trim and the reproduction trim. Must be a new way of doing it?

I see they sprayed glue on top. But nothing was covered for over spray. Won’t damage the paint?

How are you not getting glue all over the dash??It should be covered.

Initial Prep: I hope that wasn't 2-pack clear you were sanding? (two-part urethane). Big health risk sanding 2-pack without at least a gas mask, and ESPECIALLY using air to blow off! No safety goggles either. Eye protection should always been worn when the risk of flying particles exists. This video is a poor example. A full respiratory system is recommended with urethane , even when dry sanding and at least a gas mask or strap on particulate filter, even for the old acrylic paints. These DIY videos are rife with poor personal safety and big names like you should be leading the pack with correct safety examples so that the mass of ignorants (no that's not a spelling mistake) will hopefully follow your example
