1970's Massey Ferguson 16mm film about the new 750 and 760 combines and their new features. Show's Art and Harry Howard custom combiners from Warren Minnesota. Art was inducted into the Custom Harvesters Inc. Hall of Fame in 2013. This is a better quality version of the film. In 1944 Art Howard purchased a 21c Massey Harris
combine from a dealer in Oklahoma he had never met. He did this under the promise he would custom harvest grain for farmers during the wartime years. Once his brother came back from the war they started a dealership with each other in their hometown of Warren MN. They did this to get a
cheaper price on their combines and have better parts availability. They custom combined from Texas to Warren every year for 29 years. Many shots on this film were filmed in their farm west of Warren MN. This film restoration was sponsored by Don Leslie. You can see a more in depth story on them at the Marshal County Historical Society in Warren MN.

I like reading these comments. The memories they mention take me back to my own childhood days. Going into the dealership and walking across the old wooden floors. Remembering all the dust on the shelves. ( fords never needed fixing, so parts collected dust ) 😂 Looking at the new equipment. Listening to my dad talk to the owner who he knew for years. Anyone remember Abe Carlin? J and L you really do it right as far as I’m concerned. Say hello to the other musketeers. Thanks once more.

Nicely done. I still find it fascinating that they made sales films this long, and that a farmer would go into a dealer and sit there watching the whole thing. But I imagine most of them would just stop to watch for a couple minutes on their way to the parts counter or something like that.

Australia here. The first harvester I ever operated in 1983 was the MF 750 series 2, at age 17. I drove that machine for 9 years. There is nothing I don't know about them as I work on and repaired every part of the machine. I went on to operate 2 other MF 850's and an 860 till 2010. My opinion of them is they were basically a good machine if well serviced but the motor was in a bad place and prone to running hot. Often I drove around with the bonnets open.
