1970's Sony Separates TA-535, ST-333L & TC-U30 Refurb, Servicing & Repair - Retfurb Retro Audio

5 ай бұрынIn this video we go over this late 70's vintage Sony TA-535 Amplifier, ST-333L Tuner & TC-U30 Tape Cassette separates stereo Hi-Fi system.
The unit has become very tired looking and is due for a good overhaul.
We will be checking if the tape belts need replacing, As there is an issue / fault with the tape play function.
All the units will have a maintenance service clean and potentiometers cleaned with de-oxit.
Lets show how to bring this unit back to its former glory, With just some basic maintenance & repairs.....

Well done, you made the belts replacement look easy, one few decks I had to replace them and it took me forever to disassemble and put everything together

Thank you, Its appreciated. It was a little fiddly, But It saved ripping it all out. Probably not as easy on other units, Luckily this one was ok. 👍

Have same setup, with turntable, pretty decent, but need to be replaced volume potentiometer, cracking/scratchy noise appears

It’s a really nice system, I really like it. Have you tried to clean the pots? Worth a shot with de-oxit, if you haven’t already. 👍🏻

Hi, I'm a new subscriber to your channel and I've just assembled the exact same system, however with a Sony Turntable, from items I've bought on eBay. Luckily they all work, but the individual components do need cleaning to bring them back to their best. What did you use for cleaning yours? I don't want to use anything that may damage the appearance of the systems. Thank you.Garry.

Hello, thank you it’s appreciated. If it is just externally, I mainly use general household surface spray polish. Removing buttons etc, makes it easier. I hope this helps.
