The 1970s had a lot of toys for kids to choose from and some of those have remained popular to this day. Other toys weren't so lucky and some have been lost over time. In this video we will remember some of the 1970s forgotten toys!

I grew up in the 60s and 70s. What a glorious time to be a child. I feel sorry for children these days. They have no idea what it means to be a carefree child.

One toy that you didn’t mention was View Master. I had the hand held viewer and the projector with quite a selection of reels. I’m 63 years old and still have them both. Although the bulb is burnt in the projector and haven’t had any luck finding a replacement. I used to spend many hours watching them when I was a youngster.

I had the manual one that you pushed a slide to rotate the disk. I had many disks and many were 3d...I was entertained for hours with these things. Imagination was much stronger in our generation. We were the last of the feral children 😂.

Don't forget the Tyco slot car tracks, Rock em' Sock em' robots, Shogun Warriors( I had Mazinga Z), and the SST Smash Up Derby set.

Oh yeah. Had plenty of those. Watched Bugs Bunny slides in 3d. And like the other response comments say: Tonka was great. Those toy vehicles were stout. Hot Wheels too. I think one of us boys had an Easy Bake at one time, but of course, it wouldn't really even make toast. The electric trains were great too. Think that was monopolized by one or two makers, but can't remember their names. The race tracks were ok, but seems I remember the cars going to fast and falling off the track before even making a lap or them not moving worth a poop at all. And that reminds me of electric football. Good concept - maybe - but awful execution. Looked like a mutiny when your linemen turned on your quarterback. Slot-hockey was better. More like foos-ball, where you could actually control the action. Oh my gosh. No one mentioned Etch-a-Sketch.

I’m a 76er. It was an amazing time but when you stop and think about all the dangerous things we did (like laying in the back window of the car while your mom was driving and what not) it’s surprising that we’re still alive. 😊

The seventies and eighties were the best decades!!! The good old days. Thank you my friend 😊 I loved my Weeble Wobbles!!! And my spirograph!!! We didn't need all the technology and people weren't butt hurt about everything. We still said the Pledge of Allegiance and we sat down as families for dinner. We turned out just fine riding our bikes without helmets. We lived in a great decade. Oh! I also loved playing Pay Day!! 😊

I was born in the late 80's, and I was a transformers fan. I would get out my transformers and race with them in vehicle modes, and make up my own battles in robot forms.

Me too!! We are the totally tubular, gnarly #BreakfastClub. #Spicoli just remembered he's not in Saturday detention. He's in his own room, having been ordered by the spaceman from the old tv show, to pass history class, or fail to graduate high school. Who was that guy? I should go ask #MrHand. I built alot of houses as a kid playing with Legos in the early 70. I also had a glow-in-the-dark yoyo and two barrels of monkeys. My favorite game was Battleship, and I was so excited when I bought my first WiFi Stereo at KMART for 99 dollars which played all my vinyl records. Then when I turned 15, I went to a hair stylist and got a feathered haircut.

I remember getting a Lite Brite for Christmas, and loved every minute of it ! Super Spirograph was both fun and aggravating when you accidentally slipped off the gears ⚙️ when you nearly finished.

@@MarkNOTW Ditto! I also loved the big bouncy ball you sat on and bounced that had a handle. It was maroon colored, and it bounced you good when you pushed up with your legs to make it bounce. Simple toy but fun when you're a little child.

Saturday morning was the one moment of the week when the kids had unchallenged dibs on control of the TV. The parents were sleeping off their hangovers anyways. After the crack-like cartoon binging of Saturday, kids had to go to cartoon rehab on Sunday morning and watch Davey and Goliath.

I grew up in the 70s. I was born in ‘66 I remember so many of these toys. I remember the evil Knieval bike jump set. I got it for Christmas and it wasn’t even on my list. My mom thought I’d like it and she was right. Micronauts we’re cool too. Towards the later half of the 70s it was all about the handheld electronic games. Anyone else remember pouring over the Sears Christmas catalog (I had the Canadian version) and dreaming big?

Me too, I jumped that bike every where, I even had evil jump off of my horse, and after the failed snake canyon jump, I had him jump off of my roof, with parachute that also failed, next to my hot wheels and my trains, and still have, Evel Knievel bike, was my favorite toy,

Born in 1965. One of the worst combinations of things in the 70’s was the crank up Evel Knievel motorcycle sets and sculptured shag carpeting. If you understand, your frustration was real!

I was born in ‘79, so I still had the 70s design toys. I had the Fisher-Price camera, desk, cash register and doctor’s kit. That’s the jack-in-the box I had. My brother born in ‘74 had the Electronic Football and Pass the Puck. My brother born in ‘70 had the Pay Day board game.

In the 70s we actually played with our Star Wars action figures. We got them dirty and threw them around the yard. We didn't keep them locked up in the original packaging because we thought they might be worth something someday. Toys are meant to be played with!

Absolutely! I lost my stormtrooper figure down a hole, and I thought it was gone forever. About 15 years later I was at my parent's house and dug it up!! And I still have it today, over 25 years later!!!

I was born in 1961 and enjoy both the 60s and 70s. I was 9 in 1970 and graduated high school in 1979-80. The best times for kids to have grown up in were the 50s, 60s and 70s. Just about everybody was nice to each other and kids played outside with their friends and no cell phones, lol. Bikes were in and every kid rode one. I would go back to those simpler times if I could.

I still have my Evil Kneval motorcycle toy...it was my Christmas gift and I found where my Mom had my older brother hide it...but my nosy brother followed me and knew I had found it before Christmas...I knew Mom couldn't afford much, but she bought the Evil Kneval because I really, really wanted it... I always felt so bad because I spoiled her surprise Christmas morning... I've held onto it ever since and kept it in pretty pristine condition ...

I still jump when I play Perfection. My daughter and I like to play board games and we played Perfection the other day. 😆 We take turns and she's really quick and able to get them all in there before the timer goes off but I'm a lot slower now than I was when I was a kid.😂

Born in 63', I was the perfect age for 70s toys. Loved my GI Joe's, Big Jim's, Johnny Wests, Evel Knievels,SST daredevils,DC action figures and I spent hours and hours using my imagination creating stories and plots with all the accessories that came with them. The 70s..... Great toys !

Spent my early childhood in the 70's, and my God, how awesome the toys of that decade were! I had the Fisher Price medical kit from this video. I remember a boatload of FP toys scattered across the basement of my 1970's house, including the wooden Jalopy with lop-sided wheels and a bobblehead clown riding on top, and the one you pushed like a lawnmower with little colored balls popping around inside a clear plastic dome. Then as I got older, there were other toys like Star Wars, Shogun Warriors, Hot Wheels, the Even Knievel stunt cycle, Energized Spider Man, Lionel trains, slot car sets, Burning Key Cars, Big Trak, the Starbird Avenger spaceship, plastic model dinosaurs, green army men, etc. The toys absolutely defined the 70's for me!

I was born in 1969 and oh how I absolutely loved being a boy in the 1970's ! I remember all of those toys, I really enjoyed being outside all the time riding my Big Wheel, then my bike pretending to be Evel Knieval. Or just walking and running all over the place. I guess if I had to pick a favorite toy it would be a toss up between Legos and Lincoln Logs. Thanks 😊 !!! Such happy, great memories ! 👍 I would give anything to relive those times ! We had so much freedom as kids then ! 🇺🇸

Me too! I was born in 68,and I loved the toys of that time!! Rocket sockem robots , stretch Armstrong and the Evel Kneivel motorcycle that you wind up on the side of the deck! Awsome!!

1969 here too. I had at least half these toys. Loved my Evil Knievel motorcycle. I really really wanted the Chopper version. Also loved taken out Green Machine poseurs in the park with my Big Wheel.

Loved Spirograph. But sometimes you had a pen that didn't quite fit in the hole so you couldn't use it. It was usually the red for some reason.

Me and my sister had probably 80 percent of the toys and games in this video she was born in 70 me 73. What a great time to be a kid! Right before the world turned to crap! With social networking and online gaming. We were the last of the fortunates.. great video thankyou!

Grew up with most of these toys. The 70s were a great time to be a kid because it was like the wild west. Free to do as you want without all the rules and restrictions of today. Up until recently I could actually find a lot of these toys still in retro stores that have since closed down.

We had Kerplunk, Monopoly, Trouble, Don't Break the Ice, Clue, Headache, Parcheesi, Old Maid, Sorry, Battleship, Mystery Date, Jane and Johnny West, Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, Connect Four, Guess Who?, Stay Alive, Which Witch, and probably dozens more I can't recall now. The 1970s were the greatest and the last decade when famiies had dinner together and had livingroom campfire moments- watching the same television and shows at the same time. Great moments in time. And I will cherish those moments for the rest of my life.

Born in 1968. Played with every single one of these toys with my friends at some point. I remember also “Ghost Gun” and “Screech Owl” (Maybe?)…we loved the “ghostly” and “scary” games. Of course, after 1977, all I did was get Star Wars toys and figures…!

I loved Weeble Wobbles, Light Bright, and Spirograph. But the one I played with the most was Mouse Trap. When we moved my mom sold it in a yard sale but I had the diving guy and the mouse. I still have them.😊

That Paddington bear shown at the start is one I'll never forget, because it's literally the first thing I was ever given and who gave it to me. My grandparents were away on a trip to New York city on the day I was born. Yet my grandfather had heard my mom's water broke right as they were getting ready to leave for that day, so he ran into FAO Schwartz and looked around for something, if anything, that seemed appropriate to give to a baby. That's when he saw "him". A Paddington Bear plushie, standing on a shelf in bright red rubber boots with a blue raincoat and yellow hat. This bear, I still have'im, has been my constant buddy for forty long years. I refuse to get rid of him because he's been with me far too long.

I was fortunate to be born in ‘66 and grow up in the’70s. Man landed on the moon on my 3rd birthday, Evel Knievel was my hero, and I got to play Asteroids at the bowling alley arcade. It was a fantastic childhood!!!

Seeing Evel Knieval made me think of those 70s and 80s sports stars who were everywhere then, from cereal boxes to TV game shows. Like Joe Namath, Nadia Comenechi, Cathy Rigby, Mark Spitz, Olga Korbut, etc. They were always on tv or in magazines but we never hear of them anymore. I think this might be a good video, if you haven't already done one already.
