@@joeguajardo5092 There are SO MANY Cowboys who SHOULD be in the HOF but aren’t. One that’s on his last chance this year is Chuck Howley. How in the world he’s not in the Hall is beyond me. Besides being All-Pro FIVE TIMES, he was also the MVP of Super Bowls V & VI. And he’s the MVP from a LOSING team in a SB. He’s been in the ROH since the ‘70s!

Dallas was the bridesmaids of the mid to late 60s and the 1970 team lost Super Bowl V. They finally get over the hump in 1971.

@@jefferyrobertson7520 yes they won later in those years but I’m referring to the 60s and early 70s. Many of those players lost in 66 and 67 to Green Bay then lost to Cleveland in 68 and 69. They lost to Baltimore in 1970. Dallas was very good but lost in the playoffs for 5 straight years. They finally get over the hump in 71’ then of course they win the years you mentioned.

Not quite as good or dominant as the Oakland Raiders of the same era, the Raiders were in the Championship game every year from 1973-77 and prior to that they were in every Championship game from 1967-70, Dallas tied the Raiders record but Oakland set the bar higher. Alworth was done and his Cowboys contributions were sad, during his 26 game Cowboys career he caught an eye-popping 4 TD's and he averaged a pitiful 26.2 Yards per GAME with Dallas, he left his HOF days in san Diego back in the AFL! Ditka was less productive than Alworth although he caught 5 TD passes, he averaged a pathetic 17.1 Yards per game, Ditka started all of 4 games for Dallas in 1971, at least Alworth started in 11 of the 12 games he played for Dallas that season. Heck, Toni Fritsch was hardly "great", he scored 17 points for Dallas in 1971, he made 5 of his 8 FG attempts, booming one an awe inspiring 46 yards and he nailed BOTH of his extra point attempts back when extra points had to travel 30 feet! "Great"? LMFAO!

@@davidcobb2693 Disagree. The Raiders were less dominant in this era than Dallas based on Championships, wins, consecutive winning seasons, unit production, all-pros, and strength of competition. In every metric Dallas dominates the Raiders except in noise. As to 1971; where were the Raiders? They didn't even make the playoffs after yet another underwhelming season record of 8 wins in the weak AFC west. Same as in 1970. Why?; primarily because of their lame defense which was always mediocre, year in, year out. The Raiders defense only ranked in the top ten twice from 1970-1982 in yards allowed. Oh , they ranked high when in the AFL, but suddenly sucked balls when transitioning to the NFL. Just like when they got a beat down against the Packers in the Super Bowl, a team that barely got by the Cowboys. The NFL teams were too much for the Raiders when they merged until 1973, which is why they got slapped around by the Colts, the Steelers, the 49ers, the Falcons, the Lions and the Saints. Check out Dallas' record against AFC teams from 1970-72; dare ya. The Raiders defense had to talk big and hit big because they weren't very good. In 1971 the Raiders couldn't stop anyone other than the Oilers and the Chargers once. As to Alworth in 1971- he ranked 20th out of 48 receivers in catches, 1 catch less than his Hall of Fame teammate Bob Hayes. Oh my gosh, they must have sucked? But if they did, why did Dallas have the number 1 team in passing yards in 1971? Hayes and Alworth were #1 and #2 in yards gained by pass on Dallas genius; and Ditka was 4th on the team , 2 of 8 players who caught at least 100 yards in passes that season for the best passing offense in the NFL. Dallas spread the ball around- that's what good teams do. Because they are a team. So next time you want to use a Cowboy video to claim how good the Raiders were, come correct.

@@christianstough6337 The Cowgirls 8 wins in 1974 and NO playoffs is something to be proud of, AND that DEFEAT they suffered in Oakland that year! From 1963 through 1974, Oakland had one season under .500, Dallas had two such seasons, you seem like an expert in sucking balls and if 1970 sticks out for you, it should because in their first ever appearance on Monday Night Football that year Dallas underwhelmed a national audience by failing to score at home in a 38-0 BLOWOUT loss against the powerhouse St. Louis Cardinals who must have been a Super Bowl caliber team since they swept Dallas that year! You Cowgirls fans always think they were better than they actually were, The Saints TIED the Raiders in 1971 but they slapped Dallas around beating the Cowgirls by 10points! The Cowgirls first win against the Raiders didn't come until 1980 and it would be another 12 years for them to get their second win over the Raiders.

But..four were no longer Hall quality, although, for their career they were. Ditka, Adderley, and GREGG, AND ALWORTH.. All of them were fairly good that season. Salary cap and over- expansion, and dwindling youth football participation rate, have thinned down these modern 2020's teams.

The Eagles wore white jerseys at home for the entire 1971 season, it wasn't just to make the Cowboys wear blue, everyone wore their colored jerseys to the Vet that year it did work in 1973 though when the Eagles wore white at home for every game again the Eagles won that game 30-16

@@michaelleroy9281 I think the Cincinnati Bengals wore their white uniforms at home in 1970, not so much as their new stadium, but because their head coach at the time, Paul Brown used to be the head coach of the Cleveland Browns. Art Modell fired Paul Brown in Cleveland and that relationship was contentious. When the AFL merged with the NFL, the Cincinnati Bengals were assigned into the AFC Central Division with the Cleveland Browns . When the Bengals hired Paul Brown to be their head coach, if you notice , the Browns and Bengals have some similarities. For 1 , they have the same initials, C.B. ,(2) their color schemes are almost similar, Browns are brown and orange, Bengals are black and orange. Bengals wore their white uniforms at home in 1970 because of the rivalry with the Cleveland Browns who also wore their white uniforms at home as well.
