Thanks! so when doing the nose is it just crimped around on the inside where the door is? I've seen a few videos but none that really show the process clearly.

Getting pretty good at tearing it apart. Let's see if I'm as good at putting it back together lol

@@VWBrennidon that’s always the challenge for some.

to anyone doing this repair in the future. Grind the edges off (ideally remove the doors) and the spot welds around the air vent are easy to get off with a sharpened putty knife.

Would have loved to know this when I did it! Great tip!

Wouldn't it be a good idea to wear ear defenders or ear plugs.

Normally I have my earbuds in.

I removed the front panel off my baywindow,it wasnt as bad as yours, as mine still had the windscreen lip. The awkward part is bending over the thin edge that runs along the hinge sides.

@alan23463 hopefully here soon the bus will come back into the garage so I can finish it. Trying to knock out the last of the bug metalwork first though. Still nervous about doing the nose on the bus

Yeah it's worrying fitting the front panel, making sure it's all lined up snug. I've had to weld in some metal on the step area on both sides as the bus had had new arches fitted by the previous owner but the were a bit out. There was a big gap below the lowest point of the door.I finished my 72 Beetle last year. That was a big job.
