In an attempt to help a friend I got into a mess of trying to clear a barn and a field of older scrap cars. So after seeing this 1972 C10 Cheyenne sitting for 18 years I decided to see if I could make it run and drive. Follow along on this journey as I pull this time capsule from it's grave and give it a glimpse of it's former glory. #willitrun #barnfind #chevyc10

Great find! A nicely optioned truck in its day! next one down from the Chyanne Super. So many aftermarket parts available for that! I dig them aluminum wheels you put on the right side of the truck. That piece you found was out of a GM HEI distributor that plugs into the module and pickup. I like that scope from DEPTECH!

My buddy had stopped on his way home from a road trip because he saw a 65 c-20 Chevy off the road. He stopped knocked on the door and realized the house was abandoned but someone was still keeping cows there so he left a note on the truck. There was a path next to it where someone had been driving so he figured someone would notice and left. 4 months later he got a call from the guy and he told him he neeeded to get rid of it. So he drove back up there 2 hours away and got to looking at it and realized the frame was completely rotted in half. But the guy had mentioned he had some old ford tractors in his barn so they went and looked and he found a 62 four door Impala with a power glide and 6 cylinder in the barn. It was sorta rough but wasn’t to bad. He gave 500 dollars for it and got a clean title for it. The guy told him It was supposed to leave for the scrap yard the next day.

First time I saw one of the previous generarion, my dad borrowed one from work where he managed a tomato paste factory, so we could get the construction debris that was in the vacant lot next to the house we bought in California. The one he brought home was a stepside in a soft, never washed yellow. A '63, I think. This would have been in '72 when Olive was brand new. So ugly, they're handsome!

I am currently working on a 1969 Chevy K30 SRW!!! I have tons of parts for them also!! I definitely think that truck would look really good lowered!! What are your plans with the truck?? @KevinRichards-rk3gp
@KevinRichards-rk3gp 5 ай бұрын
@@BuffsGarage & what's unbelievable about the square bodies is they were produced up through 1991. 19 years they were in production wow. Also speakin of the square bodies, here's something else very interesting. Believe it/not, evolution on them began in 1968. In other words, it was when development on them started. At the time, vehicle components underwent simulated testing on computers. They drew pictures & built clay models of trucks with different body designs which none looked close to the square bodies at the time. They went through many pictures & clay models to decide what they wanted their next generation trucks to look like. In 1969, a concept pickup was built & it looked similar to the 1972 - 1980 Dodge fullsize pickups. Originally their plan was to start producing the next generation trucks in the 1972 model year but got pushed back to the 1973 model year instead & the reason that happened was because people didn't like the design of the concept pickup so they went back to the drawing board to try to think of a different design. At the beginning of the 1970 model year, clay models began to look more like the square bodies & it wasn't until during the summer season of 1972 when the final design was picked & began producing the real square body models.
@KevinRichards-rk3gp
@KevinRichards-rk3gp 5 ай бұрын
@@BuffsGarage the only square body models which weren't produced up through 1991 were the plain cab pickups. In 1987, the half & three quarter ton ones were ceased, but the one ton ones on the other hand were still in production up through 1989.
