1 of 240 LT-1s ever built with air conditioning! #s match and documented. I just bought it from a collector. He paid $58,000 for the car and spent about $17,000 on improvements. This car is dialed in! It has the original warranty protect-o-plate which has the factory options the car was ordered with. The car was sold new to David Kopecky 5-9-72 in Dallas Texas.
EXTERIOR: It has been repainted in it's original classic white color. I just walked around the car twice and did not see any damage or cracks. The body appears to be in great shape. The paint is actually polished very glossy. Of course the T-tops are removable and store behind the seat. Actually this year the window pops out as well and has it's own storage tray also behind the seat. Being an LT-1 it has the raised hood with the striping. Upfront the bumper looks like it's been rechromed, the grills are good original. It still has the water shields that protect the headlights. The rear bumpers are rechromed and sit level. License plate housing, emblems, correct antenna and mirrors are new. I open the door to find the weather strips are brand new. It has the original serial number decal still attached. It has a new set of reproduction Firestone Wide Oval tires on 15x8 Corvette rally wheels. The trim rings and center caps are new.
INTERIOR: The original radio and amp was sent out and rebuilt. New dash speakers and antenna assembly. The clock was rebuilt. All the dash and interior bulbs were replaced. New headlight switch and ignition switch. It has correct shifter with reverse lockout and chrome ball. New genuine leather upholstery. It has deluxe seat belts. It also looks like the carpet has been replaced front and back. The rear compartment doors are all in great shape. Overall the gauges, instrument panel, center console is all very good. It has a tilt telescopic steering wheel. The door panels are very good, has a few small cracks.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: VIN number matched, original LT-1 performance 350 motor. It has the correct GM aluminum intake and #s correct Holley carb. Correct finned aluminum valve covers and stock exhaust manifolds. It even has it's original smog equipment still attached and working. It also has the correct open element air cleaner and ignition shielding. The wiper motor, horn, alternator look new. The factory air conditioning was updated with the 134a freon. The fan shroud looks new, has the proper clutch fan and reproduction GM hose. New power brake system. Vacuum system was inspected and repaired, it has many new parts and hoses so the wiper door and headlights function correctly. It is a very nice looking motor compartment. Neat and orderly. There are not to many Vettes in existence that has an LT-1 motor, air conditioning, power steering and brakes under the hood!

Back in the day were the side pipes a factory option , dealer installed or customer installed. Always liked the side pipes just makes the car faster looking sitting still.

I wouldn't call converting to 134a freon without changing the condenser an "upgrade" as it won't cool anywhere near as good as the old R12 did.

How is this an LT1 if it doesn't have the 6500rpm redline ?
@joeysmith4846
@joeysmith4846 2 жыл бұрын
Because it has air conditioning. Chevrolet had the redline in the 1972 LT-1 Corvette with AC lowered to 5600 because it would throw the AC belt.

Also required the M20 wide ratio 4-spd and 3.55 gear. Without a/c you could have gotten the 3.70 or the M21 close ratio with 3.55, 3.70 or 4.11 gears.

@@anothercarchannel9635 It's still the same engine so even with air will run the same, they just borrowed the tachometer from the 454 with It's 5600 rpm redline to hopefully prevent owners from winding it out too high and throwing the accessory belts off the car or damaging the compressor.

Characteristic of an aftermarket spring, it's hard to buy a spring these days where the car sits like it did back in the day.
