Always loved these big old Chryslers looked so sleet for such a big car. Amazing how many are still around. If you are wanting a vintage car and are on a budget, I would look for something like this.

Perfectly beautiful New Yorker. It is so good to see an old car enthusiast the has the sense to wear the lap and shoulder belts in an old car and knows how to adjust the shoulder belt. Enjoyed the video- great job.

You really need to adjust the head rest so that it would keep your head from whipping back if something did happen.

@@LynxStarAuto I am living proof that they do save lives. In 1978 at the age of 16 I go my grandfather's 72 to drive. One day out of curiosity I buckled the lap and shoulder belts. I was surprised how much better the car drove and handled with the belts buckled and got in the habit of wearing them all the time. Fast forward to 1984 coming home from college on weekend. A drunk driver in a Chevrolet suburban crossed the line and hit me head on. Because of the size and strength of the car and along with wearing the lap and shoulder belts I walked away with only bruises from the belts. The unbelted drunk had massive head and chest injuries and spent several weeks in the hospital. His unbelted passenger was partially ejected through the windshield. The steering wheel is what kept the driver from being ejected. For me those "useless " seat belts were life savers. Hopefully you will never find out firsthand. Luckily my curiosity as a 16 year old led to a habit that saved me as a young man and one that I still practice 43 years later.

Sure wish classic car reviews would drive their cars with the windows up. I’d like a better sense of how quiet they are when underway.

Back before emission control systems wrecks the power of the 440 Magnum engine. 1972 was a fine model year for Chrysler.

However The Arab oil embargo in October 1973 sealed the fate of the domination of body on frame V8s with rear wheel drive. It’s great when someone saves one of these. Proud owner of a 06 P71 Crown Vic. There is no way to duplicate the feel of driving a heavy rear wheel drive V8.

Hi I am German guy and intrested in US Land Yachts (Cupes or Station Wagons) from 1968 to 1978. Which US car manufacture has the best quality. Actually I bougt this year a '75 Chevy Caprice Estate clamshell wagon. Driving this car is a incredibly mixture beteween a Mercedes S-Kasse and an agricultural machine. The machanics is quite reliable but the body work is a mess. So which manufature has the best body work in this decade?

Chrysler products during the 1968-1978 period seem to have the best resistance to rust. Fords from that period would rust quickly. General Motors cars during that time had better bodies than Fords.

I vacuumed it and added ester oil and recharged with R-134A. Remarkably, this car stayed charged and didn't need another charge the remaining years I owned. It blew Ice Cold even with the R-134A. The Condensers are MASSIVE in these old American cars, and they have a pretty hardy pumps, and an actual expansion valve instead of just an orifice tube. In other words, I think these over built, and adaptable old A/C systems can make use of a lower efficiency refrigerant very well.

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now they want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20 litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.:-(

@@realkilju Well, dont believe everything you read on the internet. First of all its from 2035 on, but more important - Its just a ban of selling (registrating) new cars with combustion engine. Classics dont have anything to do with that.
