I watch a lot of videos on these trucks from 1967-79. Of all of them, this is one of the few I see with POV driving so thank you for that.

Them's pretty country out there. I just bought a '73 F250 for $500. Looking forward to fixing it up with my dad.

Clean, polish, and maintain it. Otherwise, don't mess with it. It's a beautiful time capsule.

That is a rare color combo also, the orange is usually on the bottom, I own this exact truck with only 37200 miles on it like new barn find. Haggerty told me at auction like 40 grand do to condition and rare flipped colors 👍 I was doing work in Colorado and the woman said her husband used the truck to hunt and passed away in 78, I told her I loved the truck and she said please take it and take care of it like here husband did 👍 so I consulted with her daughter from out of state and she said please haul it away ✊✊✊✌️✌️✌️

I have a 72 half ton 4x4 no power steering. They never came with power steering and it’s an ordeal to covert to power so it’s almost un drivable

I have pretty much the same truck, but mine's white with a red top, and a 360 engine. 50mph is the absolute top speed, but it runs 45mph okay. Mine is also a Custom trim package whereas this one is a Sport Custom, so mine doesn't have any of the fancy trim on it, or a radio.

How is 50 mph top speed? I've run mine as high as 80...not for long distance, but 65-70 on the highway quite a bit.

@@barrynelson634 I don't know why mine only goes 50. That's all the faster it's ever went as long as I've had it. It runs good, though, I've taken it on long trips and it does fine, just slow.

@@richardunicorn7879 Evidently it has some very low gearing in the axles. Mine are 4:10, yours evidently are down in the 5:56 area.

@@barrynelson634 I don't know the gear ratio of mine for certain, but that sounds right. I know it's geared real low. It was a farm truck when it was new, so it was made to pull a load.

Whish they still made em like this! The auto makers only make pickup cars now.Imagine bucket sport car seats in this real truck!!!!

It's interesting that claim about pickup cars.. The tow rating of this truck was roughly 4000lbs. Considering that a new Taco is rated to tow 6500lbs and a new F250 will tow 25000+? While I agree this truck is super cool, especially the color, I disagree that new trucks are cars. With the possible exception of GM products

@@anne_n_nimity Tow rating on this when new was far more than 4,000. Where did you get that information?

GM published a tow capacity sheet for the C20 of that Era. It was 4000lbs. Using that info and the 1972 F250 gvwr of 8,000lbs. I extrapolated the figure. I'm certain it wasn't rated very much higher than the GMs of that time. No argument that these were/are beautiful trucks. But I disagree that "all new trucks are cars" just because you don't need a chiropractor after every trip.

@@anne_n_nimity Would be tough to compare anything from GM. In all fairness. I could break down for you what the actual ratings for a '72 F-250 4x4 were, if you were interested. Shoot us an email!

@@bumpsidetreasures tow ratings were also different back then. I'd be interested in seeing a more direct comparison, although that's not likely.
