1972 Monte Carlo DIY garage build

3 жыл бұрынThis was a 2 year project of my 1972 Monte Carlo that I decided to take on in November of 2018. Grew up in a garage around my dad and always was a DIY guy but never a mechanic or body man by trade.. This is a very simple montage of the build of the car. The only thing not done in my 2.5 car garage at home was the welding on of the quarters themselves. Literally EVERYTHING else was done by me at home in my garage. Every ounce of bodywork filler work and paint. It’s not perfect but all tv hard work paid off.

Lot of soul,and love went in to this Monte,glad shes ok! Nicest car model in the world, ready for a nother 50 years of joy! Cheers from the Netherlands!! Love it, I used to do the fixxings as well when I was 17yo...now I am 38 and miss thos days so bad, Great vid, love to see more

I have some more content planned coming a little closer to spring. Blew the from pump seal on the trans so that and the engine will be coming out soon

Sure wish I had a place to work on my 3 - '72's. I was able to use my brothers for a short bit, but apartment parking lot not where i can do much. Mine would look like new (yours) if I had a place. But instead, my nephew calls them all wrecked junk yard cars. Tells me to never park any of them in front of his house.... Thus I have never visited him.

@@endogenetics5535 🤣🤣 no thanks. 2.5 years on mine was enough. I did hear they are making fenders and doors out of OPGI. Remember Interior, suspension, engine bay etc is all the same as a 70-72 Chevelle. Trunk lid is the same as well. Look around and you’ll find what you need. Just shop around. eBay is your friend.

@@officialgearhead6736 I replaced my full trunk floor pan with a 1 piece 72 chevelle trunk pan and don't know where the hell to cut the damn thing to make it fit lol

@@endogenetics5535 I bought a 1 piece and ended up using it for scrap metal. Save your time and hassle and get a 3 piece pan. It will line up and fit so much better

Amazon believe it or not, same headliner as a 70-72 chevelle. The rods I got from eBay, again from a 70-73 chevelle

Only replaced the drivers fender and it’s honestly unusable. I know these fenders are hard to find but you are better off finding a rotted one and fixing the bottom. The previous owner poorly poorly made 4 patches and there is a dent right on the front body line that he bondo’d. It
