I had a six cylinder Pontiac Ventura hatch back and I loved that car. It was good on gas road nice and lasted a long time. The rear part folded down totally flat which worked out great for many things

Narrator sounds like Howard Duff.

The choices for my first car came down to a '72 Nova or a '68 Falcon, back in 1978. In what quickly became austere times, we opted for the Ford, which at $450 was a little more than half the price of having that Chevy. I always wish we'd wound up with that 2-door Nova, a pretty slick product.

The GM X platform. The NOVA(S). Nova (Chevy) Omega (Oldsmobile) Ventura (Pontiac) Apollo (Buick) (S)eville (Cadillac) The Seville is only lumped in at the end because it was introduced 1975. In 1976, the Apollo was rebadged as the Skylark. Love these ads, thanks for posting.

Cadillac Seville actually used the K platform; while similar to the X platform, it was developed for Seville alone.

In mid-1977, the Pontiac Phoenix was introduced; it had a wide body-color center section separating the grille halves, and dual rectangular headlamps. It was basically an upgraded Ventura. The Phoenix replaced the Ventura entirely for 1978.

Apollo would later be renamed Skylark.

From the thick upper front grill moulding, this a 1974 Apollo, not 1973.

Small car? I guess compared to the banana boats/land yachts of the day.
