Rare as built, this beautiful 1973 LT Camaro (LT = Luxury Touring) came with the 4-Speed option and is loaded with other desirable options as well, including the sought after Rally Sport split bumper front end. The motor has been rebuilt to Z-28 specs adding to the fun. The factory color is code #74 Dark Red metallic and looks stunning in the sun. Enjoy the test drive, I sure did.

I ordered a '73 Rally Sport from the factory in February. The salesman talked me out of a Vega GT and so glad he did. Medium red with black vinyl interior. 350 auto, no power brakes, no AC, didn't think I'd need them. Because of a strike it didn't arrive at the dealership until May. Left it stock except for headers a couple years. Had it rust-proofed at Ziebart. Drove it year-round for fifteen years in the salt and blizzards of Western Michigan. For bite in winter I used snow's at the rear and a couple sandbags in the trunk. The drivetrain was bullet-proof. Replaced one rocker arm and maybe the timing chain; that's it. At 190,000 miles and maybe to risky/rusty to hoist I sold it for a thousand dollars. Cost $3,800. It was a great car.

My dad had a 73 RS/LT he has told me a million stories about working 50-60 hours a week in construction to pay for parts to beef it up and to replace blown parts from racing with my uncle haha. I swear one day I’ll get one this nice for him to try and repay him for everything he’s done for me. I’m sure a 350 z/28 spec engine would do, he’s mellowed out a bit :)

He is incorrect when he says the second generation camaro's went from 1970-73. They started in 1970 and went till 1981.

I bought a new Camaro R/S back in 1973 and I believe I paid $3400, out the door. No AC, no FM but what a joy to drive. What I would not give to have her back again.

I had to watch this vid. I owned a 73 RS/Z28 and my friend who later became my Brother inlaw had a 73LTI Just like the one in this video. (minus the RS frontend) I couldn't agree more with all your remarks in the video. Good times driving and even better memories! Thanks for posting!

Excellent paint job. Really nice restoration. My Camaro is 1970 SS 396 L-34 numbers matching with headers. with TH 400 transmission. Very fast. I used to own the other 1970 BB SS 396 L-78 (numbers matching with headers, 4:10 12 bolt rear with positraction. A little faster then my L-34.

I was always under the impression that the 70-81 or whenever it was were all 2nd generation Camaros. I know some changes were made to the look of the front end and maybe rear end some, but I thought they were all lumped together as 2nd generation. Interesting. I don't know a ton about old cars, not much about engines either, but I'm trying to learn. I can tell what most old cars are and usually the year or within a year or two, but I have so much to learn. I already learned about old revolvers from Smith and Colt that I could possibly need to know so now I'm onto the next thing.

I have the same car, same color. This would not have had a ac with a 4 speed, nor a 12 bolt rear end. Also would have had an open element air cleaner. Wrong tail pipes. Shame its been resto moded some what. Easy to get it back to original if you sort out a 10 bolt diff.

I had a 71 and then a 74 and the 74 was much more car. Car of the year and it was bad ass with just a few things like a holly and headers and traction bars which made it pretty much untouchable on the street. Had to be cammed out & track ready to have a slight chance.. Mach 1's feared the 4 speed and rightfully so. 😏 as far as the grill and split bumpers (I like a lot)..gone. had to go with new bumper law's but inside, it looks practically identical to my '74 LT Z.

It is a very nice looking Camaro more for luxury. Z-28 are very nice, but I prefer the 1970 SS396 Camaro's. I used to own the rare L-78 (only 600 made) and now I have the 1970 SS 396 L-34. Both cars are numbers matching. They both had Headers and better suspensions. Both Camaro's are much faster then this Camaro.

Chevrolet Camaro 1st generation ran from 1967 - 1969 , 2nd gen 1970 - 1981. 3rd gen 1982-1992, 4th Gen 1993-2002, 5th gen 2010-2015, 6th gen 2016 - ?

Do you have any links that show the GEN does not mean generation? Going from what you are saying, a 1973 Camaro LT and a 1973 Camaro sport coupes are different GENs, they have different "Styling". The 2nd gen Camaro ran for 12 years, not quite sure what you mean by ten years. The 1974 Camaro is identical in everything as the 1973 except for the mandated full bumpers which stretched the overall length by 7". 74 was the last year of the flat rear window and the tail panel was different, cosmetic changes. If that is the case, I must have a 20th GEN in my 2010 Camaro, because every three or four years they made changes within the GENs to keep them fresh. That is unless you are Henry Haga, then what you claim may be true. Otherwise, share your information links so we can all get educated!
