It's very, very rare to see 1 without power windows, seat and door locks. Those hubcaps are aftermarket hubcaps

My parents had a 73 Thunderbird in metallic brown. Ours had the opera windows with power windows and locks. It also had the full vinyl top. I grow up with this car, and really loved it. Drove it in the 80’s in high school.

When I was a kid, I'd go with my dad to the Ford dealership all the time. When he was doing his socializing and business, I'd be wandering around the showroom, studying every detail of this beauty and the Elite/Cougar/MarkIV.

I prefer the 429 because of it's short stroke and large bore. A better combo for long engine life.

I had a ‘73 LTD with the 429, rated at 200 horsepower. I had the motor rebuilt to obtain 300 horsepower. This was a great cruiser; it’s fuel economy was 11 mpg city, and 14 mpg highway (at 55 miles per hour speed limit). I had this car about 10 years and my brother bought it from me. I think this t-bird should be a bit higher class car, compared with the LTD.

1973 Thunderbirds came standard with the opera window. I never seen one without it.

I own a 1976. I bought mine from a coworker in 1992 who lived in Philadelphia less than 1/4 mile from our office so it had just 17,000 miles by then and was weathered as it sat outside for +16 years. I repainted it the original OEM color and gave it to my mother who drove it until 2000 when it had about 78,000 miles. I still have it and am about to bring it back to use now that it no longer needs to meet pollution standards. Judging from the video, there seems to be lots of orange peel in the paint, more than the factory or a good quality paint shop would allow and the absence of the opera window my wild guess is that the car is a 1972 or a mix of 1972 & 1973 that was in a collision maybe w/o checking serial numbers. Anyway something seems off. I think the engine choices for 1972 were 400 & 429 and 429 & 460 in 1973 and 460 only thereafter. The interior seemed real nice.

Nice car, but those cheezie wheel covers. I'd rather see the plain factory steel wheels. Nice as this car is, it's not the car for me because it didn't come through with the color-keyed package. That would have changed the steering wheel and column to match the interior. That black steering wheel and column just scream cheap. I'm surprised that the seat belts aren't black too.

My Grandfather had the 72 Galaxy 500 same Gold but with a Brown vinyl roof and Big block!

The 72 Thunderbird did not have offer Windows they did not come out on the Thunderbird until 73 the Mark 4 had them in 72 and they were optional on them but most people got them that way so they became standard equipment

Opera windows were an option that most came with by default.

I love the 73s, the big 74 front end with the 72 taillights is really classy. 73 was the last year of the 429 too, if I'm not mistaken. My mom's 79 Cutlass had these cheesy, fake wires too, from Bradlees or Caldor I think...not a fan of those. Nice disco cruiser guys, Shaft and Superfly would dig it fo' sho'!!

I like the Thunderbird, I was curious about the roof and no electric windows. I found a 1973 spec list of standard equipment. There are some options on it, but I read in one article if you got the Cayman trim level it included the exterior decor group which included the most opera window. I remember seeing a picture of one without the opera window. We had a neighbor who sold vehicles st the local Ford Dealership. I prefer the Lincoln in this body style. I believe Mercury had one not sure what it was called. Montego, but not sure that maybe down in the Torino body style. Nice survivor. I think a lot of car guys and gals would notice the lack of opera window as I believe most B of them had it. I think the Mercury didn’t look it up as I don’t have time right now. That one had to be a special order almost all of them had power windows and the offer Windows that first year were optional and they don't believe they had wire wheel covers at the time either so that was basically a bare Bones T-Bird

My brother's first car in high school was a 1972 Thunderbird with a 429 and the "landau bars" on it. He had Crager 5 spoke wheels on it and the rear was slightly raised with different springs. I begged my brother to sell it to me when he no longer wanted it. This 73 is almost identical to it and I wanted that car soooo bad. I would get this in a heartbeat, but I would need financing.......plus I live all the way in east Texas.

I have never seen a t bird without opera windows or power windows. These cars basically only came loaded. Something's not right.

That is Identical to the car I pulled the 429 Big Block and c6 out of for my 1956 Ford F100. The car was in amazing condition with about 100K miles on it motor and trans had about 3500 Miles on them The drive train is great the car was just so terribly UGLY And awful looking We paid $1000 For the whole thing and sold the rest For $350 after we took the motor out.
