This 1974 International 100 4x4 has been rotting away in Chin's father-in-law's pasture for 16 years. It "ran when parked" according to Hoot! But we know how that goes... Let's see if we can get this one back on the road! This pickup has been SOLD! As always, thanks for watching!

This was nearly the same as my Air Force IHC pickup. It was a picnic bench on four wheels but it never quit, went absolutely everywhere and I really miss it. It had the right height and size to perform any kind of work and was definitely not a fashion statement by any stretch of the imagination.

Hi Mortske, I wanted to say Thank you to yourself and Puddin' for making the content you guys do. I've learned so much from watching the both of you and all your endeavors I was able to troubleshoot and fix my nieces 1965 Ford Falcon Fuel sending issue this weekend. Turns out it was the fuel sending unit ground connection, but without all the troubleshooting steps I've learned from the both of you I would have never touched the car to begin with. Again from the bottom of my heart, thank you! You guys ROCK!!

This reminds me back in the later 70's my dad was looking for a new vehicle that would double as a hunting rig. We went to several dealerships including IH. The Scout II's had paint bubbling up from rust all over! Brand new on the showroom floor. Those IH's were built like tanks but the quality really slipped towards the end. So good to see you bring one back on the road. They are getting rare!

Cool old truck, to bad IHC didn't start using corrosion inhibitor till 79 or 80 which was the end of production pickups, scouts and travelall. It was always interesting guessing what components they would have for drivetrain, carberation and such, they could pass just about anything on the road except a gas station.

Internationals were excellent trucks, super tough. I liked the fact they had the distributor in the front like Ford but had the firing order and cylinder numbering of GM. I had a 1972, 4 speed, 4x4 that I bought with a blown head gasket for $50. I thrashed that truck and could never get it stuck in mud or snow.

That tie rod looks like the one in my Scout. IH wasn't thinking when they put it there. First thing to hit. Mine was reinforced with angle iron welded to it. Another thing that isn't legal here, but it worked. Every KZfaqr I have seen tries to adjust the carb on a cold engine. The engine MUST be at running temp with choke full open before you can adjust the idle speed or mixture. I was adjusting carbs before EFI existed.

@@MortskeRepair Yeah, you're RIGHT it is and that's why it's awesome. To many buttons switches levers knobs in these newer vehicle's, need to get back to how they use to be made. Simple. How much wiring and relays do you think is in that Truck a heck of a lot less then the newer Trucks these days, and why for what, because people are LAZY that's why, GPS why because people don't know how to read a map. Ask your Dad how much more simple life was. I love your video's man you just make my day when you put another one out, and sometimes I get a real good laugh. I am only 36 years old, but I love manual roll down windows so much better, same with seats that you have to pull up on the lever and pull the seat forward way more simple and if it break or stops working it mechanical and pretty simple to fix. What I'm saying is that electrical just adds something else to go wrong. Plus if you add electrical and mechanical together you have to figure out witch one went BAD the electrical or the mechanical part could be something as simple as a blown fuse or as extreme as a slit in a wire somewhere or a bad relay. You see what i'm saying, LOLZ. You have a good one my friend and God Bless.

While in high school during the mid 2000's my first vehicle was a 71 1010 pickup and a 73 fully optioned travel all that I bought from the original owner. Let's just say I stuck out! I've been an international fanatic ever since.

I'm an over the road truck driver and I'm sitting here in traffic all backed up because of an accident and life was starting to suck but then I noticed there's a new video from Mortske, definitely reduced the suck by about a factor of 10

The electrical system in this body style was GM in origin for the most part. The headlight dimmer switch and the map/cabin light were sourced from the 67-72 GM trucks. I know because I once owned 2 3/4 ton 4x4s at the same time as a "take two to make one truck" project.

Sweet! My Dad and Uncles loved Cornbinders! My Dad bought a Travelall new in 1973, worst vehicle he ever owned (per him). The 1970 truck he ran till it dropped? Perfect! 😉

Ah, right hand thread wheel studs. I had a fun experience with a Kaiser CJ5 where someone had swapped the front drums side to side so it didn’t match by vehicle side. Threw me for a loop, thought they were cross threaded at first and narrowly avoided ruining the studs with an impact before I figured it out.

Thanks another great video! I used to have a 1972 IHC 1210 4x4 short bed. Yes, from the factory. IH made some interesting trucks. It originally had a 345 and manual 4 speed but the original owner decided to drop a mopar 440 and 727 three speed auto in front of the factory NP205 transfer case. Mine had a dana60 with Detroit locker in the back and a dana 44 up front. My guess is your has a Dana 44 in back and maybe a 33 up front? It had drum brakes all the way round guess IH decided to put discs up front by 74. Fun trucks, too bad body parts are non existent these days.

Growing up at home 🏡 Dad was a logger an he had a lot of those pick-ups. Most all was 3/4 ton with a 345. I'm here to tell ya, if those tires could get ahold of something 😏, it would climb a tree. Great 👍trucks 🚚as far as I'm concerned 😟. Really enjoy 😉seeing this one. Thanks for sharing 👍.
