Nice Deere, the hydraulics are very nice. I just purchased a 212 with a front blade that I'm looking forward to trying out. I have other equipment to move snow (larger compact and sub compact Massey's with buckets) but this is my only tractor that will have a front blade. We don't get much snow here in NW Arkansas so It could be years before I get a chance to try it. I don't have any chains for the rear wheels and I'm pretty sure I will need those to push anything more than a light dusting. Nice video and the scenery looks beautiful.

I also had a John Deere 140 hydro just ik u n same yr, it had the 14 HP Kohler engine, i scraped the pullies for the front n used the blade bolted on2 a pallet to drag behind it but at the moment a trans was more important so i sold it to a guy n Idaho who bought it for his dad

Great tractor. I have a John Deere 140H3 also. Mines a 1970. I have a mowing deck and a snowthower. Would like to have a blade for it some day too.

That’s awesome! I got this one with a blade, mower deck, and tiller. I so wish I had a snow thrower! It’s pretty remarkable that I bought this “working” one that had been kind of limped along a fellas gardening duties for the past several years, I put a few hours into some basic repairs, and she’s ready to be worked pretty hard! Those restored ones are pretty inspiring that I see out there, but this one has a lot of work to do before she gets a new lease on life with light duty and just enjoyment around the property. They sure dont make em like this anymore! 🙌🏻

@@NewMoonRanch most number 49 snow throwers of a 300 series tractor will fit. The thrower I got is of a JD 317. And because your tractor is an H3 you have an extra hydraulic outlets at the front. My extra one I rigged up a small cylinder to operate the top defector on the chute.

Cool drill bit boss.... love the tractor and plow blade.... I "need" a plow blade too... i have a 140 H1 and an H3 with a model 4 log splitter on one and a chipper shredder on the other...

Log splitter?! No way! I’ll need to find one of those! I’ll be trying to locate a JD Model 49 Snowblower this summer in preparation for next winter. I’m about to release a whole series on a 4 day snow removal saga, and I “NEED” a tractor mounted snowblower!

seems like it does fairly well moving snow. were you using float or were you keeping down pressure on the blade?

I use float 99% of the time. But occasionally the float position on the control lever kinda slips out before I notice it.

Any chance you have a part number for the hydraulic portion of the blade? Not the mounting bracket to the tractor nor the blade, just the middle hydraulic part.
