Perhaps the best interpretation of the Lemko folk song "As I slept on the hay" recorded in 1974 by "Arnica", one of the most famous Ukrainian rock bands in 1970s - early 1980s, that was founded in Lviv in 1971.
In addition to Arnika’s two versions (one of them was included in their 1974’s LP, another one was released in 1981 as 7’ single under the name "Shalenets'" with disco arrangement), “Yak ya spala na seni” was also performed by many popular Ukrainian rock bands like “Plač Єремії", Čumaki, and Vatra, among others.
Lemkos are considered to be a sub-group of Rusyns (also called Carpatho-Rusyns or Carpatho-Ruthenians). They speak their language, which is close to standard Rusyn, but is still considered as a language in its own right, although some linguists consider it a dialect of Rusyn or a dialect of Ukrainian.
Verses seem to be mocking, or I don't know well Lemko's folklore: if you translate it literally, it's a story of a girl who fell asleep on the haystack and was attacked by a madman (shalenets'):
Як я спала на сені, на сені / As I slept on the haystack
Прийшов до мя шаленець / A madman approached me
Мало зуби, мало хвіст, мало хвіст / Little teeth, little tail
Бо відало же мя з’їсть / Because he was going to eat me
Воно мене не з’їло, не з’їло / It didn't eat me
Ле мя в личко вкусило / Only my face was bitten
