Restored by Bruce Reynolds after 27 years in storage. First ride, November, 2012. Video location: California City, east of Tehachapi. Note: I can't get the "reply" function to work, for some reason.

That sound never gets old. A big Bultaco thumbs up for your build. Love the way you chose a mix of M120 & M135 parts with an M121 aesthetic in keeping the right hand shift era alive. Remembering of course that '75 was the first year of Left shift models. 👍

Nice I too owned a 250. Love that machine :). Funny story for ya. Use to ride on Saturday mornings. Love this hill leading into a land fill. Long story short while I was cresting the hill and setting off for a jump. They dug out the other side. Off in space I went 20 feet or so to the grown. Boom landed well but still crashed and burn. Bent forks a wee bit but got up and rode the bike home. Then off to the hospital I went. Have a good day.

I did that on a smaller scale at a motocross track on the Cape on a Rickman Zundapp 125. I'd never been to one before and I was cranking along off the track just checking out the area and whoosh, off I go into space after hitting the upper edge of a large berm perpendicularly from outside. From my angle it blended in perfectly and I didn't realize what it was until the bottom fell out and I was in space. Landed fine and just kinda pretended, 'sure, meant to do that'. Fun times!

I owned a Pursang back in the 70's. Heavy but fast, and handed like nothing else...except maybe the old Maico. The old rule of thumb for the Bull was replace the fiberglass fenders, the fork seals and the rear shocks before you even rode it. Oh and buy a fiberglass repair kit for the gas tank. Otherwise, it was probably the closest to a "works" machine you could buy off the showroom. God, I miss those days.

A little piece of classic spanish bike. Thanks for making this Bultaco live again

Hi James, thanks for writing! I can't ride anymore, but I found a great home for the bike at a local off-road equipment shop where it is on display. Poor Pomeroy tried so hard and didn't quite reach the top echelon.

I loved my Bultaco and owned it for 4 years and it never failed to start on first or second kick after 'tickling' the amal carb :)

At least you took it out. So many times you see a bike like that siting in someone’s shop never to ridden. It’s a shame to see that. Looked like a lot of fun, a little sketchy with limited suspension, too. Thanks for the video!

Love that look and sound. I have since the first one I saw back in 71 at 11 years old. Haven't owned one yet, but I've made up my mind to sell some stuff that is bucket list stuff that is collecting dust and finally get a Pursang.

Pursing was such a clean looking machine. Loved Bultacos and Montesas.

Two month ago I posted on here, well I finally did it! January 8 2018, I bought a 1971 Pursang M87 350. Gathering up a few goodies it needs and I'll be riding it soon. Thanks for being some of the final inspiration to get this done. Your bike looks and sounds great.

Hasta la llegada de las japonesas, en Europa eran imbatibles. Una caja de velocidades a prueba de "bomba" y una mecánica casi artesanal........está unidad se oye bien "carburada" aunque personalmente le cortaría totalmente el ralentí.

How much gas does that tank hold? It looks really tiny like 1 gallon. Very nice lines though, being so narrow like that looks great. Always wanted a vintage mx bike like a Bultaco or Maico but between my bad back and their short travel suspension, it's probably not a good idea haha. Always thought old twin shock bikes looked nicer than monoshock bikes, but in the real world riding long travel monoshock is so much better.
@joegilly15234 жыл бұрын
Fuckyou monoshocks are better,I could beat any Honda,Suzuki,Kawasaki, on the straights ,but their suspension would beat me on berms,jumps,whoops ,corners . Persangs had ALOT of balls but ,the suspension was old school .

Where in the world did you get parts?
@jamespepper19376 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe. I start with SpeedandSport.com. The owner (located near Sacramento) repaired my motor and did a great job.
@bultacowally6 жыл бұрын
Hey Joe. You want to know something...there is still a working Bultaco dealer here in New York south of Albany...Hugh's Bultaco. They have about any part you would want...a lot of them brand new, and if they don't have it they can probably guide you to some one that does but that is probably never. I heard they even have new bikes in crates yet i guess don't know if they sell them though.There is also Lynn Mobley in Nevada i think and yes Matt Hilgenburg at Speed and Sport in CA. Plus there are a lot of parts on E-Bay but most of the guys selling parts on E-Bay are those parts trolls that buy every vintage motorcycle they can get their greedy hands on, gut them like a dead fish, then try and sell every nut, bolt and washer separate for absolutely stupid high prices and many of the parts those guys sell are worthless, rusty, dirty junk and they don't know what it fits and don't even clean any of it. Then there is one guy that sand blasts everything...nuts, bolts, cranks, pistons, cylinders, bearings, etc. and sells them as "Rebuilt". Not such a great place to buy parts anymore but sometimes you have to.
