Our nova was 1976, 350 motor, went 160 m.p.h. During test drive .side piped,dual exaust,rear wheel drive,lemon yellow outside,crime scene red interior.

350 Motor with the 4bbl carb had good power but laden with heavy smog equipment. What transmission did you use. Amazing you could get it to go so fast. You may have set a world speed record for a Nova.
@jayceec35392 жыл бұрын
@@thecaradvisorclassics we had it going top speed from jewel lake road in anchorage ak, to 5th ave and fairbanks street in less then 10 minutes. (Tho having 6 family members in 1 car at 3:00 am apparently is suspicious,according to the officer who pulled us over.)

Beautiful! It's perfect for an everyday car. Why ask for more?

Thanks for your comments. I totally agree. I can get into my Nova any time and drive it anywhere. It doesn’t have air conditioning so I mostly drive it in the cooler months. Sometimes a few days in a row to work and back. Often to the mountains. Lots of thumbs up’s.

@@thecaradvisorclassics My Nova/Omega lacked A/C, too. Many of them did for it was an option at the time. And used the now banned R12 Freon.
@thecaradvisorclassics2 жыл бұрын
@@gsnfan I love having the no air option because of the floor vents. Since the vehicles of those days were not aero dynamic you can actually drive with the windows open with out much flutter and in combination with floor vents it’s kind of like being on a motorcycle with a car body surrounding you. Awesome 😎

These cars are going up in value I think. I have a 75 2 door hatchback that I have as a daily, has a 350 in it with a TH350. Never had an issue with it and Ive had it for almost 3 years now. Mine isnt nearly as nice as yours thou :D

Finally the 1975 to 1979 Novas are starting to get the recognition they deserve. The didn’t before because they have to pass a smog check in many states. That’s ridiculous for a car of this age. In 1975 GM put the front subframe from the Camaro onto the Nova. 👍 That really improved handling!! You have a great powertrain combination. I have mine for 13 years and wouldn’t hesitate driving anywhere with it. Just keep all the fluids clean and watch the hoses and belts and they will last almost for ever. Thanks for sharing your comments.

I had a 77 Nova 2 door sedan, mine had the inline 6 with automatic transmission. Admittedly a decent car for the times but overall is a bit big on the outside and smallish on the inside. (The bottom cushion of the rear seat is purposely shortened to make legroom SEEM generous.) That, and the driver's side of the instrument panel looked like they got the measurements " wrong ", with funky panel overlaps in a couple of places.
@thecaradvisorclassics Жыл бұрын
You described the car perfectly. Even the rear seat cushion to make the rest leg room look 👀 more spacious. I also had a 77 Novs sedan during and after high school with a bench. Since I’m tall the back seat passengers were really squeezed in. 😂 lol. Compared to now cars are so much more spacious and efficient. The Nova was considered a compact then. But that is part of what makes them cool now and they look 👀 really cool. Thanks for your comments.

Unfortunately I don’t know where the seats came from they look like a Pontiac of some type possibly when I purchased a the Nova almost 13 years ago they were in the car already. Thanks for the nice comments wish I could help you find seats like them

Actually they will go well over 85 miles per hour. Lol. In those days we even had a brief period of 55 Mph on California highways
@thecaradvisorclassics2 жыл бұрын
Yes for a short time to conserve fuel there was a brief period of a maximum Highway speed limit of 55 Mph. I don’t. Remember which year. And some manufacturers installed speedometers with ridiculously low maximum speed speedometers.
