49ers already had a few pieces in Solomon, Ayers, Cross and Fahnhorst on offense and Archie Reese on defense. But they were definitely not close.

yep pretty amazing a team that was so bad had some players that helped make the team so good just a few years later. Walsh was a magician. Ray Wersching also one of those pieces on this 78 team.
