Nothing like the sound of the old Pontiacs going through the gears... Sold my '79 WS6 400/4 speed 2 years ago due to health problems... The view down the hood is the best ever... Looking good, Brother...

I bought my 79 WS6 400 Trans Am back in January 26, 1979. It had 43 miles on it. I still have it. Just recently had it restored, engine and paint. Looks and drives like new. I love my T/A and will never sell it. Will pass it on to my son when my driving days are over.

Fantastic car! It looks clean and original. Mine is in restoration. Videos like this remind me to keep up the effort.

Thanks! It’s my dads. He repainted it in the 90’s but other than that it’s all original. Best of luck on your restoration!

Impressive. Best T/A - 6.6, 4 speed video I have seen. These cars were meant to be driven. Nothing beats the burn out and barking of 2nd gear! Rock on!

2nd Gen TAs have always been my favorite, especially the Bandit car. Thanks for the ride!

Incredibly nice and original. Very period correct with the body side moldings in tact.

Low red line on the tach for this model? Seems like there qas more room to stretch out the gear

put in some forged rods and a 80 psi oil pump, on a rebuild on this, with a cam and 72 cc heads, and you might have some fun with this.

How many miles on that motor? I see cast iron manifolds on the exhaust. I'm gonna put them on too on my all original 78' T/A. The rotted out headers had flat spots from ground clearance issues. Not a lot room under there. It's a stock 400 W72 package. I think it will be more interesting to keep this time capsule just that rather than rip out everything and make it what it is not.

Just under 47000 original miles. Yeah it still has the manifolds. Though one is cracked unfortunately. You can clearly hear the exhaust leak throughout the video
