Nice bike. I've taken to the XS1100's on my 2nd and third ones now. Used quite cheap for a lot of power (at least for me being 67years old).

A friend had one in the 80's and I rode it once and it was a joy to drive. Plenty of passing power and the top speed was more than adequate. Thanks for the review of a nice Yamaha XS1100. Take care and ride safe.

I HAD A BRAND NEW ONE IN 1978. IT WAS THE FASTEST BIKE THAT YEAR.

i owned a 1980 or 81 yamaha venture 1100 shaft drive...it was a rocket ship...evan with the the hard boxes top box and windjammer fairing..

Crap bike, wheel base was too short, On the bright side, one of the best side car bikes ever made, but as a two wheeler no, The XJ's (750/ 900) were so superior.
