Good to see the Louisville working. I drove our 94L8000 with 8.3 Cummins fuel truck all this week due to the newer stuff being broke down as usual. The old Ford ran better than a new truck. No electronics, no def, Manuel transmission. My favorite way to work.

Nice 👍 It’s so nice to have no computers!

@@MichiganDiesel exactly right. The only thing electronic on it is the meter simply because the mechanical ones made now are garbage. L.C. (Liquid Controls) is a excellent and very simple to use meter system that works great and is reliable.

It’s fun to bring them back to life. I’m hauling asphalt today with my l9000 dump truck.

I'm giving you a hard time by saying this, but come on man.... you didn't empty an entire tube of grease onto the fifth wheel?!? What's wrong with you? 😂😂😂 I swear the shop uses an entire tube when they pm our trucks. They are liberally coated and at least 2/3rds of it scrapes off in the first 4 trips. Keep up the great work!

Haha yup! I have seen that before 👍 Thanks for watching

I used to notice at a company I once worked in that the apprentice mechanics in our workshop would literally cover the 5th wheel in grease. If I wanted to ice a cake, I'd ask them.

That old Ford seemed to run okay, is that a NTC Cummins?

Seems like a pretty decent truck, what engine does it have?

290 big cam Cummins

@@MichiganDiesel Thank you for your response. That's a good engine, easy to turn up the power (fuel) and RPM . I put a lot of miles on a big cam 290. Was able to get 5.5 MPG easy.
@andrewking48859 ай бұрын
The 290 Cummins was a good engine in it's time. I like the super singles on the front. A truckie told me those bigger wheels are harder on the king pins but I don't reckon. Depends who the driver is.
@bertgrau39349 ай бұрын
@@andrewking4885 I don't know about the bigger tires being harder on the king pins. The wider tires can handle heavier weights, so that could be harder on the king pins.
@vhdtim Жыл бұрын
No light check ? No tug test to make sure the king pin is locked and the parking brakes are good on the trailer
