The 911 was only 15 years old in 1979 not 30. It debuted in 1963 as the 901 with the first production year being 1964.

I had a 928 1977 and few years later I decided to part exchange my 928 with 928s. In the showroom there were a red 911 turbo and a 928ss. I was torn between the two!!! The moral of the story is, both of which were fast and furious!!! Porsche should have kept both variants in production instead of producing the dreadful panamera 😎
