Allan Grice and Bob Jane's mechanic Pat Purcell never really got along well. However, after Allan Browne bought the Monza from Jane in early 1984 and put Gricey in the car, he made a point of later ringing Purcell and congratulating him on building such a great racing car. Grice loved it. Peter Brock himself also drove the car in 1982-83 after Jane's driving retirement and like Grice would in 1984, Brock loved the car.

The car actually still exists today (30 December 2023), although it is no longer a Monza. Its owned by former V8 Supercar driver David Wall who has kept it as the Toyota Supra body that his father Des raced the car with some success from 1990. It was changed from being a Chevy Monza to the Supra body in 1989 by its then owner Bryan Thompson, though it still runs a 6.0L Chev V8. This would be its last race in this guise. By 1982 it would be updated to IMSA GT spec with Bob Jane retiring and putting Peter Brock in the car.
